According to the Roman historian, Suetonius, more than 60 conspirators banded together against Caesar and plotted his assassination. These were all eminent men, who deeply resented Caesar for his rise to power and having made himself Emperor.
He was stabbed to death during a meeting of the Senate (over which he presided). As soon as he took his seat, several dozen of these conspirators crowded around him as if to pay their respects, but then they slashed and stabbed him to death with daggers. The most famous of these men were Casca brothers, and Marcus Brutus.

I believe the first or perhaps the final blow came from Brutus. But it was also a violent attack by 9 (I think) other powerful men.
