There are some statues in hometowns are erected for personal purposes...for local people that if visitors came to visit..would know absolutely nothing about!
Do you have any in your hometown, and who are they of, or what are they of, and why?

Also, for a bonus Halloween Question here:Any Statues haunted and why? What stories or "Myths" have you learned of these particular statues...where do you think the stories have come from in the first place?

(In Council Bluff's ,Iowa, there is a "black angel"...The Ruth Anne Dodge Memorial is supposedly very haunted!!)Town people clean it,and it never stays shined! It goes right to black again!!

Also, some unusual statues are of a husband's wife and of himself in different stages of their lives..are also on display(I think that is what the monument is of..I cant' remember what state it is in..and what the monument is...!)

thanks!

i have a question about the holocaust. Why do people just label that as something that happened to jews. It didnt their were crippled people, Political rivals, russians, POW's, blacks, gays, or anyone who hitler didnt view as a best friend. Now i am not one of those crazy's who say that it didnt happen but i wanna know what it seems that the jews are the only ones who make claim to it. They get their own homeland and are widely simpathized with. The remifications from the thought that it was only jews has led to the majority of terrorism problems we are in today. The holocaust also changed america from anti semetic to accepting of jews and going to war for them. Yes america was anti semetic we new of the holocaust before pearl harbor and did nothing. we have pictures of the camps. But i wanna know why this is the case and not just thought of as a bad time in humanity instead of a jewish strugle.

thank you for th time

What are some different "types" of German ships? I'm not looking for the name of them, just the type. I'm looking for a type that was used between the years 1500 and 1700

for example- a galleon (although that's not German.)

Can anybody help me out? Thanks
Sam

i'm trying to take depth of field pictures where the foreground is clear and the background is blurry, but for some reason my camera, a canon a540, is making it difficult. my smallest aperture size, a F 2.6, digital focuses all pictures to be clear, no matter how close or far the objects are two one another, or the camera to the objects. Has anyone had similar problems and can offer any advice? ANY help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

What events were in the news(anytime during your lifetime or others that you know of in say the past) that local teens or adults played a huge or a small part in to scare others around them and why?)

There are always some crazy stories about pranks or "stuff" happening in the neighborhoods, in the news, if not now, but, also in the past history of the city or town that people dwell in...They are rather interesting to read!
Have you ever read any of the "old" archives at all in the local libraries..and what types of things did you read about...and were they interesting to learn of?
Why?

thanks!

My drama teacher says that my grade can pick our play and he gave us some suggestions like Once on this Island, Guys and Dolls and Godspell. I was wondering which plays you guys would suggest? Just so you know, there are only about 4 people (3 girls counting me and 1 boy) who like to sing. The rest of my grade likes sports, rap music, Hollister...etc

And I go to a private school

thanks!

And or scariest story you have ever told, or wrote, or read?
Why did it entice you to hear the whole story, or at least a part of it, and why or in what ways did it scare you?

Would you listen again, or not?

Who is a great story teller of these types of stories..in your own personal opinion..and this can be a family member, a neighbor, a librarian, a friend, a person whom you don't know etc...?

thanks!!

I remember reading something about this some weeks back, and could have heard a comment also back at the time itself when it originally was reported. Does anyone else remember this news? Did anyone see the "light" around him, which some members said it stayed with him till he finished talking?

Also, why if he was received then_can't remember when, but it wasn't that long ago_can't he come in again now?

If God made the universe perfect then there would be no reason to intervene in which case time would run like a movie, unless his tastes changed (but he would know that so he still wouldn't need to intervene because that would also be determined from the beginning) but then God would not be part of the cycle of life and would just be an observer. This wouldn't give the universe any purpose.

If God wanted to be part of creation, he would have purposely made the universe imperfect so he could step in at the right time to fix things. So creation would be more like his video game.

He gave us self awareness which make me think he wanted to be part of it, but divine intervention would violate causality which is an important part of rational thinking. Then there all the times he doesn't intervene to prevent suffering which leads me to believe he is evil or indifferent at best.

So what you think? movie or video game?
