She sat in the over stuffed chair, legs almost tucked under body, but more at her side. Her left hand lay across her left ankle, her digits fingered her middle of the right foot. The pencil that was between the middle and ring finger, was pressed lightly against her forehead.
She was perhaps nineteen years old. Brownish hair, wearing a black shorts, not too tight, and white sweater covering a white pullover blouse. She was pretty, not stunning, but would look terrific dressed in just the right outfit. Her nose on the thin side, which blended well with her small mouth.
Staring intently at her book, she had come to Barnes and Noble as a place to study, not a place to buy. Occasionally, she would make a note on her paper that sat in the book. Her right hand curled around the book, holding the pages in place, which appeared soon to be finished. That suggested that she was in college and the class was not unlike the book nearing an end.
Her hair that came to the middle of her back, half to the front, half back over the shoulder. She would read for a moment, and then need to break, looking around at people. She picked at something on her arm at the elbow and then tried to get the itch with the eraser on the tip of the pencil. She stopped reading and looked about the room, then at nothing, thinking. She made a decision and and stood up, placed the book on chair to keep someone from sitting there Her return without another book, suggested that she had slipped off the to the restroom,
She sat again, and re assumed the curled up possession. She picked up the small charm on her silver necklace and used it as a control to rub the chain over the area that sat between her chin and lower lip.
If the ring on her left hand was a correct indication, she was engaged to man that was not with her this afternoon in early June. She was relatively slim by the non-model standards of the 2000's, which were more in line with what was thin pre-Twiggy of the 60s. She was healthy looking.
The she looked up as someone appeared. He was older then her, but not really father age. So it appeared the finance was here. Yet they did not seem a match. He reached down and touched her hair and spoke something softly to her. She nodded. Not changing expression from the serious one that she wore.

Please don't give answers such as Hary Potter, Lord of the Rings, Catcher in The Rye, To Kill a Mockingbird, War and Peace etc etc etc.

All great books, but I'm looking for some recommendations I may not have read already!

I'm terrible at remembering books, but some recent favourites are 'Shantaram', 'A Fine Balance', 'The Remains of the Day'. I generally like books about people, rather than epic and unbelievable thrillers.

It’s 1920, in the lonely street of France, a man puffing a cigarette in the shadows, tall, slim and alone. The streets then fill with people, the theatre performance has just finished.. There, he saw her.. surrounded by photographers, by paparazzi. After the hassle, she walks past him.. glanced and moved on. He ran up to her and tapped her shoulder.
“Well, hello miss.” he grinned a crooked grin. The girl obviously in her younger ages, swung around to she the man.
“Yes, sir?” she asked politely, her wonderful acting hiding the irritation in her voice. Probably just another fan.
“Ah, madam…” he circled her, throwing the cigarette to the ground and stepping on it, the sizzling fading into the brick street. “Beautiful work, tonight. Very beautiful.”
“Thank you,” she sighed. “I must get to my cab, now.”

I have been approached with the proposition to direct the high school musical this spring in the district where I teach. I am looking for a good show that has a small cast and that does not have massive set & costume requirements. I do not know what the budget is yet but I assume it is small.

My thought so far have been: You're a Good Man Charlie Brown and perhaps Once on This Island. Any other good thoughts?

I have this project of making illustration for stationery products. Such as folders, pencil case, etc. They just want me to draw the pictures, and hand to them as vector files. The thing is I don't know how much I should ask (in $) for each picture I drew. My client just started her new small company, and if this works, It will be an ongoing project.
