She sat in the over stuffed chair, legs almost tucked under body, but more at her side. Her left hand lay across her left ankle, her digits fingered her middle of the right foot. The pencil that was between the middle and ring finger, was pressed lightly against her forehead.
She was perhaps nineteen years old. Brownish hair, wearing a black shorts, not too tight, and white sweater covering a white pullover blouse. She was pretty, not stunning, but would look terrific dressed in just the right outfit. Her nose on the thin side, which blended well with her small mouth.
Staring intently at her book, she had come to Barnes and Noble as a place to study, not a place to buy. Occasionally, she would make a note on her paper that sat in the book. Her right hand curled around the book, holding the pages in place, which appeared soon to be finished. That suggested that she was in college and the class was not unlike the book nearing an end.
Her hair that came to the middle of her back, half to the front, half back over the shoulder. She would read for a moment, and then need to break, looking around at people. She picked at something on her arm at the elbow and then tried to get the itch with the eraser on the tip of the pencil. She stopped reading and looked about the room, then at nothing, thinking. She made a decision and and stood up, placed the book on chair to keep someone from sitting there Her return without another book, suggested that she had slipped off the to the restroom,
She sat again, and re assumed the curled up possession. She picked up the small charm on her silver necklace and used it as a control to rub the chain over the area that sat between her chin and lower lip.
If the ring on her left hand was a correct indication, she was engaged to man that was not with her this afternoon in early June. She was relatively slim by the non-model standards of the 2000's, which were more in line with what was thin pre-Twiggy of the 60s. She was healthy looking.
The she looked up as someone appeared. He was older then her, but not really father age. So it appeared the finance was here. Yet they did not seem a match. He reached down and touched her hair and spoke something softly to her. She nodded. Not changing expression from the serious one that she wore.
