It's probably bcuz philosophy is a quest for a comprehensive understanding of human existence. The objective of philosophy is to consider the rational justification of logical inferences, human values, criteria for establishing the claims of knowledge and certainly, and intepretations of the nature of reality. The diverse insights of significant philosophers from ancient times to the present contribute resources to stimulate contemporary philosophical thinking in each of these areas.
Philosophy is quite unlike any other field. It is "unique" both in its methods and in the nature and breadth of its subject matter. Philosophy pursues questions in every dimension of human life, and its techniques apply to problems in any field of study or endeavor. No brief definition expresses the richness and variety of philosophy. It may be described in many ways. It is a reasoned pursuit of fundamental truths, a quest for understanding, a study of principles of conduct. It seeks to establish standards of evidence, to provide rational methods of resolving conflicts, and to create techniques for evaluating ideas and arguments. Philosophy develops the capacity to see the world from the perspective of other individuals and other cultures; it enhances one's ability to perceive the relationships among the various fields of study; and it deepens one's sense of the meaning and varieties of human experience.
Philosophical appraisal of ideas and issues takes many forms, but philosophical studies often focus on the meaning of an idea and on its basis, coherence, and life and death as you've mentioned.
You too have a wonderful day :)

Hope, Will, Purpose, Competency.....it is the birth of the competency concept (competency is a social value) in the growing human mind that realizes human mental history has value for the same reasons.
The Will is positive, the Judgment is negative.

The Erikson life-stage virtues, in the order of the stages in which they may be acquired, are:
hope
will
purpose
competence
fidelity
love (in intimate relationships, work and family)
caring
wisdom
Middle Childhood (6-10 Years)
Psychosocial Crisis: Industry vs. Inferiority
To bring a productive situation to completion is an aim which gradually supersedes the whims and wishes of play. The fundamentals of technology are developed. To lose the hope of such "industrious" association may pull the child back to the more isolated, less conscious familial rivalry of the oedipal time.
Main question asked: Am I good at what I do? , team play things.

That's a good question. I've never thought about it before at all.
Philosophy is defined as "the rational investigation of the truths and principles of being, knowledge, or conduct."
Someone asks a question they want to know the answer to. So philosophers are questioning different beliefs/principles/etc., in hopes of finding the answer. It's more of a personal thing, because it isn't easy to get others to see your precise viewpoint.
I guess it's just a personal conquest for understanding.

Don't be embarassed you have to grow up sometimes. You should know enough not to send messages over the computer you could have easily gotten into a fight with your friend and she could have easily posted them all over the web for your whole school to see. Be smarter! If your mom knows then thats the least of your worries, just be like i was only kidding but I do like him. She probably won't bring it up anyway and then everyone will move on and no one will care in a week.
