By this, I mean why do they want to deny it? When children ask them about it, why do they get angry and fail to provide a response? Why do they solely identify as African-American and ignore the other part of their heritage? What do "pureblood" natives think about mixed bloods of black, white, hispanic or other descent?

I'd never seen the grass so rank and spindly
nor seen the hedgerow sagging at my knees.
What paint remained upon the house ached peeling
parched memories, chipped decor for the breeze.

I'd never seen the windows stare so vapid
nor known a family so unabashed after they had
ruined my perfection
complete with curtains laced, ruffled and sashed.

I wanted to behold once more what shaped this
home where caring always made a stand
Instead I saw my last composite memory
had been bequeathed to time and hapless hands.

I wondered as I stepped inside my Chevy
tears flooding past their reservoir again
if there was nothing to behold but sadness
and only felt that queer, nostalgiac pain.

Would I suffer if the house was gleaming
from fresh paint to withstand the sun and wind?
Would I go off happily on seeing
the lawn is mowed, the hedgerow neatly trimmed?

Imagine that you could press a button to instantly convert everyone else in the world to your political and/or religious views. Would you press the button? And would it matter if it was political, religious, or both beliefs?

How sure are you that your beliefs are the correct or best ones? If you're confident and comfortable in your beliefs, what reason(s) would you have for NOT pressing the button? After all, if everyone believed the same as you, there would be no more strife in the world caused by conflicts between different beliefs, right?

Nihilism implies atheism. What is not generally agreed is that the converse is also true. When atheistic arguments are finished, they terminate in nihilism. Atheists leave unanswered the question, Where did the world come from? If they posit any substance, the question must arise, Where did THAT come from? Only by saying, "Nothing," does the question terminate.

If the universe evolved out of nothing, then it
must be a zero sum state, which means the nihilistic conjecture
(nihilism) is true. Thus atheism implies nihilism metaphysically. If true, then the universe must show rigid conservation, exactly what is observed. In nihilism, every complete conservation law must sum to zero.

I did marching freshman year, and I'm tired of it. I mean I have to get up for practice at 5:30 am. Every friday night we have to go and march at the football games. My parents are forcing me to stay since I'm not joined in any other clubs and they paid 1,800 dollars for my flute. How to convince them to let me quit?
