There are other factors involved... exactly how good is your resume? Were the commercials spec commercials, regional, national, or??? Did they air? If they were regional or national those are good credits, but specs are better than nothing. Community theatre is a good start, but not the best credits to list. If you can move on to prefessional theatre, give it a shot. As for training, 5 months isn't a long time, but it's ok. It's not always the amount of time, but rather a combination of time and who you've studied with. Some agents will see that you've studied with someone inparticular, may be impressed and call you in from that especially if you have a couple of decent credits.
Another important factor is whether or not the agent already has another client like you. If every agent in town has a client with your basic physical description and they're getting called for auditions on a regular basis then they're not likely to give you a second look unless you have something really great on your resume like credits, skills, or what have you...
That being said, you have a better shot than a lot of people who think it's just that easy to get an agent and be on tv or in a movie. It takes work and it sounds like you understand that and have taken real steps toward attaining your dream. I say go for it, you have nothing to lose. If you have friends in the business I suggest networking to see if anyone will give you a referal to an agent or one of their reps. That's the single best way to get an agent to give you the time of day. If you're currently in a production, tell agents about it in your cover letter and invite them to come see it. Make sure to put all the info! Ask the box office if they will do comp tickets for industry pros. Most will with some notice as long as there's available tickets, some want their money in which case you should fork out the dough for the tickets. After all, you could get an agent out of it :-)
Good luck!

You ask A LOT of questions and many of them are the same thing over and over again. You need to relax. If you want to be an actor you will have to do it the same way as everyone else. Get professional training and by that I don't mean as an extracurricular activity. I mean classes by a known and respected acting teacher. Then after you are good enough to do it at the professional level you can start looking for an agent. Not one second before. And I mean a SAG franchised legit agent. They sign very few people and all of them are trained and have credible amateur experience. Do you live in NY, LA or Chicago? That's where almost every job is and if you don't live there you can't audition from out of state. Is your family willing to move so you can act? You are nowhere near ready to even be thinking about acting professionally. You don't even know anything about what it's really like. You are infatuated with the idea of money and fame. It's not like that at all. The reality is most working actors also work other jobs because they have to make ends meet. It's a hard craft to master and it's an even harder business to be in. Have some respect. If you want to learn something just research the answers other people got. Meanwhile slow way down and forget the idea that you can get an agent and start getting work. You can't.

Agents want to see that you performed in a lot plays, in a leading role.
They want to see that you took acting classes from a well-respected acting teacher/coach.
Five months is not a long time, they want to see that you have been studying acting for a very long time and not starting.

even if you don't have an agent, you can get acting work. I do often. You just have to know how. Also, even if you get an agent, and many people can with no credits or experience, you still have to do a lot of work yourself. Cant' rely solely on them.

Yes, also, if you are under 13, you really just need to have a nice headshot.
