My father was in the Navy before they had radar. These big ships don't turn easily and the officers had to worry about worry about running into other ships. My dad taught me a trick about avoiding collisions.

Just using eyesight and knowing where the other ship was in relationship to their bow, how could they tell if they were on a potential collision course?

I'm not "hating" on Jerry Rice as I believe he is the greatest receiver to ever play the game but why is it that everybody seems to think that Jerry Rice's record in a strike season is more impressive? Yeah he got it in 12 games but wasn't he playing against a bunch of scrub corners? I don't know the exact details as to whether or not Rice went on strike as well but if he did play didn't that record come against replacements? Thus wouldn't Randy's record be more impressive?

I have been going out with my boyfriend for 7 months, then there was a huge miscommunication since we're long distance and i broke it off with him. I could've gone back but I felt not so tied down. then a month later he asks me out again and i say yes, we talked about alot of issues, &2 days later we break up b/c he said he has fallen in love with me and he will give me his heart. I simply freaked, yes we've seen each other and have a physical relationship also. We have tried to be friends after we broke up but we have a very deep emotional connection. I was adopted and both of my parents were drunks, i think I'm afraid of getting too involved with a guy and then getting hurt and my ex bf has assured me over a million times he wont hurt me. I'm not going t therapy/counseling i just dont know what to do, i like my freedom yet only have eyes for my ex no matter how many different guys come knocking at my door. I dont want to do any long distance relationship, even if i love him.

and it came out negative. i am okay with the result but i'm also confused because of all the other pregnancy-like symtoms i've had. my breasts are still so sore and the weird period for 2 days and just feeling exhausted. i know when i would of conceived and it's been about 5 1/2 weeks so the home pregnancy test would come out with the correct result now right??

Please do not answer if you are rabid supporter of one party or the other - I do not want angry answers, just thoughtful ones.

I am certainly not in any easy to define catagory.

1.) I abhor illegal immigration and feel strongly that this country is already too populated at over 300 million. I feel we need to slow down on legal immigration (from ALL countries) or our children and grandchildren will suffer terribly.

2.) I also strongly feel that we need to protect the environment. As we get bigger we use more natural resources. To the extent that increasing fuel mileage is meaningless if we continue to grow in numbers (see #1).

3.) We need to hold people accountable for EVERY decision they make. If they have kids they need to pay for them themselves. If they don't want to work then they can starve. We need to stop taking money from one group of people and giving it to another group. There should only be exceptions for the truely disabled but nobody else.

I have a 11 year old daughter who really wants a job. Of course it would be for only two to three hours after school,and it would be her own buisness. She would be doing things like :dog walking;selling cakes and cards and other simple things. She would be working around where she lives and will have adult supervision most of the time. She is very responsible,trusworthy and mature for her age.

Well i had this crazy dream one night this week...it still lingers strong a bit. Well...In the dream, i dunno. I was fighting with this person, like they were real annoying. right now im in junior year of high school and i have friends...i think they're friends...they can be shady at times, but anyways alot of people who hate me and only god knows why and some i have never even spoken to before. Theres so much catiness and fakeness just like you might expect in some other high schools. well im looking towards college when i dont have to deal with all this catiness and drama drama drama anymore. i just want to know : are people just as catty in college as in high school? or does it get better as people mature?

All she does is gossip, and she is super annoying. She will ask me every day to go, so it's not like I can make up one excuse, like a dental appointment bc when I do that, she asks me to go later on in the week, and I'm running out of excuses! oh, and she doesnt have much authority, there is no reason to get on her good side. she cannot fire me.

How did you learn to simplify radicals (like simplifying sq.rt.48 to 4 sq.rt.3 or cube root 48 to 2 cube root 6)

I think I discovered a new way to simplify radicals that is simple, easy, works every time, and with slight modification, can work for roots of any power (cube roots, 10th power roots, etc.). I want to see if anyone else has learned how I do it though.
