I have tried everything - lowering the temperature of the oven, different pans, but my cakes always are hard around the edge. Any help?

I understand that vegans don't believe in the killing of animals for food. What I don't understand is why they are against using animals for anything; even when they are not killed. Such as for dairy products and honey; cows and bees are not slaughtered for those products so why are they against it?

Some of the more strict vegans seem to be against pets and see and eye dogs, as well as police sniff dogs. I noticed a loophole that vegans use calling the animals they own as companions rather then pets.

I am trying to make a wise purchase for my son's Christmas present, on a good sturdy dependable guitar controller for the PS2 system. I've looked at both wireless vs wired (seems like the wired ones are better made? - form the reviews I've read) but I would really like to get him the wireless versions - but I keep reading reviews on different ones ie: the V by TAC, the Front Man..--- Is the Hammer a good choice? I don't know which one to purchase..... any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I opened a credit card when I first started out on my own several years ago. (Hey, we've all been there!) That card went into collections and was charged-off by a collections company. I finally got that debt completley paid off. That is the only negative mark on my report, so my score is still fairly good. Anyway, how long will that negative mark stay on there? How long before my credit score goes up?

i have a huge crush on a junior that goes to my school.i am a freshmen.i have never talked to him b4 but ppl tell me that he is a super nice guy! i wuld really like to get to kno him though. i have liked him for like 4 months and just recently he has been looking at me constantly in the mornings and at lunch and then when i pass him in th ehallways he glances at me EVERYDAY! He has been doing this every day for the past 2 weeks...why?? He has a GF though and they supposely just started going out. What does glances mean if they happen every day from the same guy? could it mean something? does he know i like him? he barely even knows me and i don't know him that well but he seems like a really cool guy...can u be interested in someone you don't know?? and at lunch his friends always look back at me and he does it too...my friends even notice him glancing at me all the time...please help me i am so confused!!!

PORTLAND, Maine - Congressional candidate Dean Scontras called today for Governor Baldacci to terminate Maine's status as a sanctuary state for illegal aliens. Scontras said an executive order issued in 2004 has turned Maine into the nation's only sanctuary state, where people in the country illegally are entitled to the full range of welfare benefits, driver's licenses, and other privileges intended for lawful state residents.

"This misguided order by the governor is not in the best interest of Maine or our country," said Scontras, the leading Republican candidate for Maine's open 1st Congressional District seat. "At a time when Maine's economy is struggling, it is unconscionable that our highly taxed citizens should be expected to provide welfare and numerous other benefits for people who are in our country illegally."

The executive order in question, 13 FY 04/05, issued on April 9, 2004, is entitled "An Order Concerning Access to State Services by All Entitled Maine Residents". The order prohibits state workers from inquiring about the immigration status of anyone applying for services. Consequently, thousands of people of unknown origin have been issued Maine driver's licenses.
