Hi, I am interested in investing and stocks and i had a couple questions. How old do you have to be to invest? I'm 16 and i have a part-time job which i hope to put that money into either stocks or something i can see grow over time. Also, do most of you (stock investors) use companies such as TDameritrade or Charles Schwab to help you with investing? Or would stocks not be a good idea for me at my age?


I have read a bit on Suze Ormans book but i feel a bit overwhelemed. I plan on putting 500 to start so i guess i would have to invest into small companies? Any help or ideas would be very appreciated.

Long story short - told boss I was pregnant, baby died in 5th month, then diagnosed with blood disorder, doctor said not to return to work for about 6 months. Gave boss dr's note, he said it was unacceptable, told me I was a liar, that I was the reason that he had to work every weekend for the last 4 months, and that I had to apologize to him for sending him a letter explaining the seriousness of my disease and letting him know that I was disappointed that after 8 years' of service, my situation was handled with such a lack of sensitivity. Boss doubted my baby's age at death, and said so in his letter to me. Hence my reply, which I was asked to apologize for. Told him no way, just stating the facts and my feelings - then was told "this discussion is over", I replied "I get the impression I am not welcome here anymore", he replied, "no you're not, now get out of here, you're not welcome here anymore". I filed complaint with labour board, and now he denies everything - priceless!

My new girlfriend and I have been going out for about four and a half months.
She seemed like the perfect girl..really nice, takes care of herself (very beautiful), no children, educated, and from a nice family.
Even though we took everything slow..we seemed to fall for each other fast. Our parents even had a cookout together this summer.
THEN the relationship became physical...it was perfect. I had never felt so attracted to my lover, and satisfied. About a week and a half ago- she dropped a real bomb.
I know she just said this to share everything with me, but it still hurts. She told me she had sexually been with over 50 men(this is just the full intercourse number- she don't remember oral/other).She said she was wild in high school, and college (she's now 27).
My whole image of her is blown, and I don't find myself wanting to be with, or attracted to her anymore.She doesn't know whats wrong.Is it the fair thing to just break up, this has changed my feelings for her?

The illegals wouldn't come if they didn't benefit.

Those who employ them benefit by paying less than to an American for the same work.

The Americans don't want to work for that pay level anyway so they are not losing anything they want.

Illegals don't draw welfare etc so they don't cost the system anything.

It seems like everyone benefits so why do so many people complain?

I bought a brand new (2008) Kia Rio from a dealership just a few hours ago, but I don't want it (long story). It has a warranty and everything. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it; I just don't like it. Can I "return" it to the dealership without losing money? I decided on a financing payment plan.

i heard my parents fighting a few hours ago, and i am not so sure what it was about, but he said "its over, we're through", and then they were fighting about who i will stay with when they get a divorce. then a few minutes later, he told my mom he's leaving(hes drunk,), and she took his keys, and he had one hiding w/ him and he left at about 7:00, now it's going on 9:00. he told her he'll call her tomorrow, and he came into my room and told me he loves me and he left. my mom doesn't want to call the cops, and i'm afraid he gets killed or worse. right now, if he were to come back, i would ignore him. i hate him right now. i told my mom about it and she told me when he calls to tell him i love him...but its not how I FEEL. i want to make him feel bad for leaving me and my mom, him being drunk, me being scared, and leaving me and my mom here to cry. i'm only thirteen years old and i don't konw how to deal w/ this. please help me. :/
