Before 1969 we did not have satalites in space so how did weathermen know what the weather would be like the following week?

I have three strawberry jars full of them. Will they survive the winter (Mild - usually) if I just put them in a sheltered corner and cover them with leaves? Or if I take them in a garage, etc. will they die from no sunlight? They are so pretty I hate to lose them, but my house is already full of plants for the winter.

I see no end of people claiming that atheists and the like cry out to the Judeo-Christian god when they exclaim "Oh my god!" but what is it exactly that draws them to that conclusion?

The _my_ part of the exclamation obviously denotes that the person saying it is refering to their god, whoever that may be, and not necessarily the deity who claims monopoly on the use of the 'god' title.

Of course this is all completely ignoring the fact that it can be meant to be entirely exclamatory and not at all imply that the person saying it even believes in deities.

So can we please stop with the claims that "all cry out to God", as well as that lame bear 'joke' that keeps cropping up that isn't funny?

'Twas the month before Christmas
When all through our land,
Not a Christian was praying
Nor taking a stand.

See the PC Police had taken away,
The reason for Christmas - No one could say.
The children were told by their schools not to sing,
About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.

It might hurt people's feelings, the teachers would say
December 25th is just a " Holiday ."
Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit
Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it!

CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an I-pod
Something was changing, something quite odd!
Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa
In hopes to sell books by Franken & Fonda.

As Targets were hanging their trees upside down
At Lowe's the word Christmas - was nowhere to be found.
At K-Mart and Staples and Penny's and Sears
You won't hear the word Christmas;
it won't touch your ears.

What excites you about Thanksgiving, Merry Holiday and Happy New Year?

We see in Genesis Ch 1 vs 1 that God created the Heavens and the earth and that it was a perfect creation to match the One Who created it.

Vs 2 is interesting because the earth had "Become" void and wasted and that darkness was over the face of the DEEP.
What is this Deep that the bible refers to?
It also mentions that the Spirit of God brooded over the surface of the waters.
Where did this water come from?
What took place between Genesis Chapter 1 between verses one and two.
Something quite incredible since the earth changed from being perfect to becoming wasted and void.
Water seems to be one of the ways that God judges the earth, by covering it with it.
He said something interesting to Noah in Genesis.. that He wil not judge the earth AGAIN by water

Please open up in your sharing of this matter.
I am particularly interested in knowing whether the earth was once judged by water prior to the flood in Noah's time.

Ty in advance
In Christ

For women everywhere........

Once upon a time, in a land far away, a beautiful, independent, self-assured princess happened upon a frog as she sat contemplating ecological issues on the shores of an unpolluted pond in a verdant meadow near her castle. The frog hopped into the Princess' lap and said, "Elegant Lady, I was once a handsome Prince, until an evil witch cast a spell upon me. One kiss from you, however, and I will turn back into the dapper, young Prince that I am and then, my sweet, we can marry and setup housekeeping in yon castle with my Mother, where you can prepare my meals, clean my clothes, bear my children, and forever feel grateful and happy doing so." That night, on a repast of lightly sauteed frog legs seasoned in a white wine and onion cream sauce, she chuckled to herself and thought...............I don't ******* think so.

I plan to stay in the Budget Inn Patricia Hotel towards the end of December for my Christmas break in Vancouver the address of this Hotel Inn is "403 East Hastings St., Vancouver BC, V6A "
Is anyone here familiar with this location or perhaps you have stayed there or lived near by, Can you advise me if this part of East Hastings is one of the more slum parts of town. I have heard that East Hastings is an area to be avoided as there is a lot of drugs and prostitution. But i understand that some parts of East Hastings are worse than others, Can someone tell me what this part of town is like before i book my stay, should i avoid it at all costs or is this part of East Hastings OK, I will be traveling back to this Hotel at night after day trips out so i need a heads up on this, Many thanks.
