If anything, having your books banned is a boon for an author. But is it censorship?

The Supreme Court has ruled that “community standards” dictate what is obscene, not any dictum from the federal government. So if a small town decides for themselves that Pat Conroy’s writings violate their local standards and don’t want the library to carry them, that, according to the Supreme Court, is permissible.

If the community is not permitted to decide for themselves, then doesn’t “anything go?” Why shouldn’t the library stock Penthouse magazine or some racist rantings, for instance, as well?

Okay i've just started taking valtrex everyday along with my birth control pills. I am about 3 days late for my period and am thinking i might be pregnant, we use condoms and i take the pill daily, could i still be pregnant or is it just stress? I know they say some meds can counter act the birth control pills and make them not affective. In June i didn't have a period either and the doc said it was most likely stress. So could Valtrex counter act the birth control or does it not affect it?

Their team is the Michigan Wolverines of mens college basketball. ( Well, thats not fair to Michigan. Appalachian State had a rep as a good team, just not a top 20 squad )

I am planning to rent a boat (24 ft sea ray bow rider) on my trip to Miami in the spring. im trying to find out how much to charge for a 90 square foot floor deck 5 quarter by 6. im going to need to know how much the deck material is inorder to know what to charge for the job. Iam just going over the existing flooring after i resecure it and then lay my decking right over the old one ;was thinking 10 per square foot labor and material i think the decking goes for like 5 per square foot?

Why does it seem like these days parents either can't raise their kids or don't want to raise their kids?

For instance, a kid gets angry easily so the parents take him to a therapist. Or a child wakes up in the middle of the night and won't go back to sleep so the parents take her to a sleep clinic.

Is it that todays parents aren't smart enough to deal with their kids? Or is it that they are too lazy?

My point is, a couple decades ago if a kid had problems the parents dealt with it WITHOUT the help of special doctors or therapists and the kids turned out fine. Why is it that these days parents are not able to deal with things themselves?

Ok well its November and I just found out that my allowences on my W-4 was entered as a 4 this whole time instead of a 1 like I had put when I filled it out. Is this going to really hurt me? I have a Nissan Pathfinder, but would like to know the general rule of thumb to have automotive brakes inspected and possibly shoes & pads replaced in order to avoid complete replacement of rotors and brakes every couple of years.
