I am planning to rent a boat (24 ft sea ray bow rider) on my trip to Miami in the spring. We are hiring a captain to operate the boat so none of us will be operating or driving and vehicles...Please let me know if there is an open container law in Miami or any type of law that will prohibit me and my friends from taking an alcoholic beverage on board with us.

i do not know what these others are talking about..do they live in Florida? I go boating all the time in Miami and have been pulled over by the police drinking with a drink in the cup holder, they will not do anything unless you are drunk, technically the driver cannot be drinking will operating the boat however you could have a few drinks and then drive the boat, as long as you are not impaired you will be fine, since you have a captain you have nothing to worry about, unless the boat rental shop doesn't let you have alcohol on the boat, but not against the law
just be responsible

The direct answer to your Question is NO there is no open
container law ! But having said that the others who have already responded have made valid points for you to consider!
Plus the people from whom you are renting are entitled to make rules! And lastly ALWAYS KEEP IN MIND THE WHAT THE CAPTAIN SAYS IS THE LAW !! You should be able to solve
this problem by talking to the rental folks!!
