First of all I'm a Laker fan....
I am impressed but it's only been a weeks so im not get all antsy about just yet....
They should if they stay healthy...my hope would be to finish with a 4th or 5th seed to give us a chance to play in the second round. (While I don't think we're the 4th or 5th best team in the west, the regular season standings are just a combo of talent and consistency...(ex memphis grizzlies of a couple years ago consistent team with great regular season record but got swept i think in consecutive years) MVP? hwo knows it depends on the success of the teams usually......
Defensive player of the year? maybe marcus camby again...Dwight howard?Maybe Josh Smith of Atl....
Kobe probably won't be traded this season don't know about the next.....im also happy that fish (Derek Fisher) is back in LA ive been a fan of him since he was drafted......im curious to how the team chemistry will be when odom gets back.......also might sound odd to some people but LUUUKE Walton is an important key to our success in running the offense....and hopefully Andrew Bynum continues to improve........anyway LAKERS 4 LIFE!

The Orlando Magic are 3-1 as of right now. Dwight Howard and Rashard Lewis seem to be getting off on the right foot. My only hope is that Howard can improve his percentages and effeciency and Lewis stays healthy. With those two contributing a great inside-outside game for a full season, the Magic should put up a fight in the SE Division.
However, Jameer Nelson hasn't shown that he is ready to be a NBA-caliber PG (plus he is battling injuries). This may be his last season in Orlando to get things together. Plus, we lost Grant Hill in the off-season (Were you aware he was the 2nd leading scorer on the team last year?? Wow.)
In the Division, the Bobcats vastly improved with the addition of J-Rich. A team with Okafur, Richardson, Raymond Felton, and Gerald Wallace seems pretty intimidating on paper. The Heat seem to be getting worse and older (but the return of Wade should help them greatly). Hopefully Orlando can stay competitive with these teams.
MVP? Early signs show K.G. as being dominate as ever. If you thought he was good in Minnesota, imagine how he'll be when the playoffs are not only a possibility, but Boston is a favorite in the East to go all the way. The man never gave less that 100% in Minnesota, so get ready for 20+ ppg and 12+ rpg.

My team, the Cavaliers, are at .500 right now. They could be better. I think they still need to make a trade for a quality point guard and resign Varejao(not for 10 mil a year) to do well in the playoffs. I know Boobie Gibson is off to a good start but if we had a quality PG, we could move him to shooting guard.
LeBron has been doing very well this year. I'm picking him to win the MVP. I don't think we have a defensive player of the year on our team, but LeBron did have like 4 blocks against the Suns.
If the Cavs can go atleast 4-3 on this 7-game west road trip, then I would take that for anything. If you look at their remaining games on this road trip, they've got Utah tonight, Sacramento, the Clippers, and the Nuggets. I say we could go 5-2.
I'd say Detroit is our biggest rival. They've been off to a great start. Undefeated if I'm not mistaken. Chicago has been a disapointment so far. I know its early, but if they keep playing like this, especially at home, we could be a possible #2 or #3 seed in the playoffs. That would be great. I'm looking forward to a great season in all of basketball filled with brawls, cheating refs, and surprising teams. Go Cavs!

The Bucks are 2-2 and look really good as soon as they start to Gel they will be a team to reckon with. Last night they blew Toronto out of the Bradley center and played the bench in the second half and still won by 30. Yi is for real and is only going to get better and better! Michael Redd is the next best guard to Kobe and D Wade

Like crap. I'm actually happy with the numbers the Heat are producing. they seem to be very balanced, but they're lacking what Wade can give to them. when Wade comes back they'll start winning.
i think KGs going to be MVP. not only will the Celtics be winning, his numbers will be his best ever. well, maybe not points-wise since he can share the scoring load. but he'll do a lot on the court that will ensure the Celtics win all the games they can.
defensive player, its tough. there are the old favorites, but you don't know who just might come in and show something. i personally hope Gerald Wallace wins it once. he has the numbers to prove it with his blocks and steals. although its mostly hussle that gets him those numbers but it has to say something when you can get blocks and steals although some would argue numbers aren't all that there is for being a good defender.

My in demand group is the Chicago Bulls, nicely they are suffering real now, yet I do wish they get better and get issues lower back collectively formerly the commerce rumors surrounded the group. (the priority rather began whilst the Kobe rumor clouded the group, i think the group morale is down after that). From the communities you stated in basic terms New Orleans bowled over me... because of the fact: a million. Orlando has Dwight Howard. And so a procedures it rather is his suitable season ever slowly unleashing the beast interior of... exhibiting why he somewhat deserved being the real %. of 2004. 2. Boston has the massive 3. they have an able lower back-up roster (Posey, domicile, and so on.) that felt this group is able to something specific whilst they joined the group interior the low season. 3. The Lakers did not ask your self me in any respect. it rather is a sturdy group first of all. They have been basically saddled with numerous injuries upload to that the project Kobe gave the group interior the offseason (the call calling and all) this group is locked and loaded. Bynum is exhibiting why he's the main coveted youthful center of this Laker group. wish this enables.

My favorite team is the Pistons and they are leading their division so i am real happy as for the rest of the year i think this is their year My fav player is Rasheed Wallace I love him like no other and I am serious when I say that I have a tattoo of his number and name I am looking forward to the rest of the season. My cats name is Rasheeda Wallace she is a girl and the one I got after her is Carmello we call her Mello kitty so i mean I have love for these guys but, Pistons are the team to watch this year. They have an explosive bench but, as for MVP I think it goes to KG. Defensive player of the year should be Camby and yes I think they will make the playoffs I think they will win it all!!!

The Mavs are doing better than the first 5 games last year, but I am still worried about the low-post game.
I think that they might make it to the Finals.
I think that it's still too early to tell who the MVP is going to be.
The D player of the year is probably going to be Josh Smith. That boy is a monster.
