Both are nice but I prefer a fake tree. This is why:
1. No needles to step on...ouch
2. I don't have to remember to put sugar water in it (only to have the dog and cat drink it eventually) to keep it alive
3. It actually is more expensive to buy a tree every year
4. Ok, I can't think of any other reasons...every once in a blue moon I will buy a real tree because well....just because!

Artifical that way we are not having to plant trees every year to just cut down and only use a few weeks then throw away.

Real for sure! Last few years we had an artifical one though but this year, I'm insisting on a REAL one again!

Real, definitely... it doesn't feel the same without going out and picking out the perfect tree and then hauling it in the house, setting it up in the stand, making sure it has water, decorating it, and at the end of the holidays vacuuming up all the needles! And the smell...mmmm... I love coming home in the evenings and standing by the tree just to take it in.
Love it!

It has to be a real tree, at least for me. Although the real trees that I buy are planted after Christmas so I am not killing any trees

i have never had a real christmas tree. i am 24 years old and we always had fake ones because my mom didn't want the pine needles all over the house so i guess i like fake ones. but it really doesn't matter i would take a real on too i guess.

I definitely prefer a natural pine or other noddle-tree for Christmas celebration. With light and beauty things it is very decorating and it creates the Christmas atmosphere. Santa Claus my even knock on the door.

I do prefer artificial cause having a real one would mean to cut it from where it belongs, cutting the life out of it, and I could never forget that it would be a dead tree that you would have to toss away by january.
