Okay i've just started taking valtrex everyday along with my birth control pills. I am about 3 days late for my period and am thinking i might be pregnant, we use condoms and i take the pill daily, could i still be pregnant or is it just stress? I know they say some meds can counter act the birth control pills and make them not affective. In June i didn't have a period either and the doc said it was most likely stress. So could Valtrex counter act the birth control or does it not affect it?

No, Valtrex will not affect birth control pills.
Medications that can affect birth control are:
* the antibiotic rifampin.
* certain anti-fungals that are taken orally for yeast infections
* certain anti-HIV protease inhibitors
* certain anti-seizure medications
* St. John's Wort
Valtrex is an antiviral medication so you should be just fine. If you are concerned you are pregnant you can always take a pregnancy test or see your doctor and have them give one to you. Good luck!

Valtrex is a successful and often prescribed antiviral prescription drug that is used to control genital herpes Although Valtrex cannot cure herpes it will help with reducing the symptoms.
The anitivral drug works cuts down on the growth of the virus which drastically minimizes the spread of the virus in your body. It's important to know that it will not prevent it from being spread to someone else so precautions are necessary. It can be a trial to live with genital herpes.
Expect to have to deal with many problems, both physical and emotional. When you first contract the disease it will seem as if it is taking over your whole existence. Remember that there are presciption medications for herpes such as Valtex that will make life easier for you.
It should be taken immediately when the first burning and tingling appears. Don't wait for the blisters to show up.
If you experience any of these symptoms you should contact your doctor right away. Those people that are allergic to acyclovir or valacyclovir must not take Valtrex.
People who have a disease such as HIV or Aids or any condition that may weaken the immune system should definitely consult their doctor before taking Valtrex.

Generic Valtrex (Valcyclovir) will do the same job as Valtrex and will most certainly help to make living with herpes that little bit more comfortable, and do it at a substantially cost.
Reducing the outbreaks and lowering the symptoms of the herpes virus will enable you to carry on living a normal life again.Simply by taking common sense precautions you will be able to help fight the spread of the virus and have a normal and active sex life.

Stress! Stress can do wild things to your body. It can make you skip menstrual cycles, hair loss, weight gain, weight loss, acne.....The chances of you being pregnant are slim to none w/ the use of condoms and the pill. I think it's stress. Since you skipped your period in June that is an indication that your body may respond to high levels of stress by messing with your cycle. Just continue to use protection and you may want to talk to your doctor about giving you an antidepressant. Seriously. I am on one and I feel soooooooooooooooo much better. I do not stay as stressed out as I used to. I think it would be a great idea atleast for you to ask the doc about it. You could try Lexapro or Celexa, which rarely cause weight gain like other antidepressants do. I am in Celexa and it really helps. Good luck and don't worry, I doubt you are with child....You are just with stress!!!!!!!!

No. "it is not familiar whether valacyclovir passes into breast milk and how it could influence a nursing infant. do not take this drugs with out first chatting alongside with your surgeon while you're breast-feeding a infant." it is not familiar how unfavorable it is. do not take a gamble. Or supply up breastfeeding. Shingles won't circulate away with out the Valtrex. placed your infant on formula. yet do not not supply him VALTREX!

It's most likely stress. But maybe you should go ahead and take an at-home pregnancy test just be sure. Sounds like you've been pretty careful though in using the right birth control. I'd say stress.

valtex has no interactions with HBC. It is most likey stress causing you to skip your period - but it is also not uncommon for women to get light/no periods when on HBC for a long time. If you are using HBC +condoms the chances of you getting pregnant are almost 0%

It's just 3 days late. I think it's normal if the period time doesn't come exactly at the same time every month. sometime few days earlier and sometimes few days later.
It shouldn't be a matter.
