Reading the forum pages on etsy, a lot of people don't rate etsy highly as etsy don't advertise and so they believe that only other etsy sellers are, in the main, the buyers. I'd like to know if lots of people look at etsy even if they are NOT a registered seller. Thank-you.

Nope. Only the people who already sell there. I think the reason is that when someone Googles an item, if they click on it and it's an Etsy listing, they won't trust it because Etsy doesn't do anything to build their own brand. So the customer has never heard of it, like they have heard of Ebay.

My brother is a registered seller and has sold some things pretty quickly. He thinks that it's better than ebay in many ways.

I'm not a registered seller, & I click around on it about once a month. Usually when I'm looking for ideas of things to make.

I have to say i think ebay is the way to go for selling hand-made things on the internet, alot more people traffic the ebay website than etsy.
