There was a programme on more4 last night called opinions filmed in 1982. Basically Rushdie was sat there talking about imperialism and racism and how Britain should go through a period of cleansing like the Germans did after WW2. Anyway he opposed racism and used Blacks and Asians as examples. Today i went on wikipedia and searched him and apparently he's against the Racial and Religious Hatred Act, as he believes in freedom of speech. Is this guy an idiot? I mean ok he's againt racial prejudice, but what about religious prejudice? Prejudice is prejudice, no matter who it's aimed at -do you agree?

I sent my bills and they just sit they for two weeks before they send them to my student loan or my credit card company one company held it it for a month is there a reason for this. why do they do this? I want a honest answer why don't they delieve mail.

I was having some trouble with my car recently, and someone told me that i had "bad gas". I'm assuming that gasoline is like water or juice for cars, and anytime i get something that tastes bad, I add sugar. My friend assured me that it was a good idea, so should i add a cup of sugar straight to the tank....? or do i need to mix it thouroughly in a can first?

just read an article stating that the goverment are considering lowering the time limit on abortions from 24 weeks to 20 i personally think they shouldnt be done over 16 weeks what do you lot think

im not against abortion in certain circumstances but i do believe serial aborters should not be allowed to have them whats everyones lses veiw on the topic

I am doing a quiz project for the school exam. I have to check if file length of a file is zero ( concept of files). Can I use tellg() ?
I am implementing it in a class .Then I use if() statement to check if file length of a file which stores the quiz questions is zero( i.e there are no questions). If it is zero Then I invoke another function asking the user to input questions first.
Here should i use tellg() to check if there are no questions in the file.


P.s: I don't want it to be too complex...as I've been learning c++ only from june 2006

A gentlemen called me to ask if it would be ok for him to call me sometime to go to lunch or a movie. I know this person from church, and he knows my situation; was married for 17 years and then widowed, with two young children. Anyway, I told him he could call sometime. Well, I don't know what I would talk about! Surely he doesn't want to hear about my late husband, maybe a little on the kids, but for so long my life was with husband and kids, and I'm not sure how to get past that and have an adult conversation with a nice man. I'm more worried about conversation than kissing him. We live in a small town and anywhere we went someone I know would see us, and then I have to worry about the "date" being all around town, then I would have to deal with that gossip. My dearest friend is happy for me. I was just taken by surprise. When you eat with two boys every night, the discussions turn a little gross and strange noises are made. All new to me.

I know 'un-invent' probably isn't even a word but you know what I mean. My choice would be weapons of all kinds (inc. nuclear bombs etc.) and cherry coke (as I am addicted to this and feel it will be the downfall of my good health). A mixture of serious and fun answers are welcome!

Talked on the phone about an hour a day for about a week and a half.He sent a lot pictures of himself and family also his work website where he has a very reputable reputation in the community in newspapers,tv .Really enjoyed talking but he is about 8 to 9 hours away.He also sent me flowers .Was all set up to come see me he made flight arrangements and hotel for himself and wanted to take me to dinner.I still have a highschool child who I don't plan on uprooting for 4 more years till he is finished in school.Well I called and said I was just not comfortable with the distance and did not think it to be a good idea to visit.He emailed me and wished me well and said I was fabulous . He did not pressure me into changing my mind at all and said on the phone if I didn't feel comfortable with it that was ok.I really miss talking to him should I ask him for a second chance to at least meet him?He also does a lot of travel and is looking for his soul mate . Travel would be hard becaus of child
