It appears that the Romans got along with those who promoted the idea of sacrifice for sins when Jesus was around... but didn't get along with those who were promoting a complete "transformation" of the person. (reference: Sermon on the Mount)

Three hundred years passed and Constantine picked up on the idea of "sacrifice for sins" but managed to stamp out all the competing factions of Christianity that promoted a real personal transformation of the person.

I guess it's easier to control people who don't change and don't go through a dramatic transformation.

So is this another example of the more things change, the more they remain the same??? .... since Jesus never promoted the idea of sacrifice for sins... not in the Sermon on the Mount and not after the crucifixion either.

But the Romans sure picked up it, and it's been with us ever since!

So is this "sacrifice" Christianity simply a carry over from an old Roman preference?

Me and my faince' r so in love and been engaged for a very long time (but we were in two different countries so the engagement was mostly phone calls and internet)

Problem is .. the "honeymoon" sweet talks , beautiful feelings, calling each other sweet names, romantic stuff .. etc .. are disappearing one by one and it's time to be logic and serious and plan a life together .. I just can't get over it .. i feel i still want more "honeymoon" days .. sometimes i try to bring them back but it seems to be when it's over .. IT'S OVER and it's time to get real

I did talk to him and told him that i miss those days and had a long conversation but as a conclusion his reply was simply "u know i love u"

I dont wanna keep talking to him about it cuz i dont want to sound like an immature girl who still wants to live her fairytale .. or am i ?

Help .. how did u get over the fact that the "honeymoon" period is over ??

Can anyone tell me the dangers of douching with just plain water? I bought the kind of douche that I could unscrew the top and put whatever I wanted in there. So I decided the only way to douche with out creating an infection would be to do it with no added chemicals, water! Besides, I only wanted to do it to cleanse the extra semen secretions that my boyfriend leaves in me(maybe too much info...) But honestly, I need to know if this is a good method, or a totally idiotic thing that I'm gonna end up paying for in the future.

I have two triangles inside one another, and I don't know the bases of either of them. The base ratio is 4:9. I know that the sides of the smaller triangle are 4 and 3.2 and the sides of the larger triangle are 9 and 7.2.
Does anybody have ANY idea how I can find out the bases of the two triangles?!?

There was this guy who always went out drinking with his friends. He would always come home very late. One night, while he was at the bar he told them his secret for being able to sneak in late.

Ok. Has anybody else seen this Subway commercial? I'm so tired of it!!

In this commercial, some office workers are going to eat lunch from a non-Subway fast-food restaurant. A lady asks her co-worker, "If they still have the can-my-butt-look-any-bigger meal, can you get it for me?", implying that this is somehow a bad thing.

Now excuse me, but how is a big butt on a woman a bad thing? Not only that, but she looks like she could probably use a "can-my-butt-look-any-bigger" meal. Or a few.

Subway also did this on a previous commercial, where a lady and her husband were at a drive-thru and she asked for the "badunk-a-dunk butt" meal. Again, impying that this is bad.

I ask you, what is wrong with a badunk-a-dunk butt? Badunk-a-dunk butts are beautiful!

I say long live badunk-a-dunk butts!

ok i met this girl at work...we had lunch once and i told her i liked her she started giggling and made me repeat it...she never told me she had a boyfriend until i asked her...i gave up and tried 2 months later....now im more open about it and talk to her more...i always give her little things to make it up when she told me she was sick i brought her a cup of tea with lemon and she liked it..other day i got her chocolate and pulled a hershey kiss and gave that one seperate..i got her perfume and i caught her telling her friend about it and made it noticible to my attention..i asked her whats goin on for the weekend and she told me nothing with a look...i told her in a email how i feel about her and all she responded was..."you makin me blush"...i asked her to lunch but we couldnt keep it because we were both busy that day..so i brought her food and tooked it to her cuz she is busy...she is in the breakfast club and got me breakfast last time...do i have a chance?what should i do now?
