I am wondering how and/or why specific molecular structure affects the way odor is processed in the human body.

Specifically, is the structure of aldehydes unique from the other odiferous compounds (esters, ketones, phenols, and any other groups of compounds), which in turn causes the body to process the compound differently than the other compounds?

Is there a group of compounds that are very close to aldehydes? If so, what are common sources of that compound found in the everyday world?

Why would a person be physically irritated by aldehyde-based odors, but not others?

I am a lay person, without chemistry knowledge, so I am not well-versed in terminology and explinations are helpful.

I know this can be done cause I have heard of others doing it,

also , Is it possible to record something as I am watching it ,

say if a ocean show or somethign is on the discovery channel can I record it and burn it to a dvd.

as far as I know its regular analog cable, I guess I could call the cable company and ask , but its just the regular old cable people have had around here for years

My mom has asked me if i would consider moving to LA with her because she has been doing nails for ten years and she says if she goes on any longer she could get ill with all the chemicals she takes in everyday. My grandparents live up there and they can start a business up for her. A big part of me wants to stay because this is where i grew up and i think im dependent from the people around me and im very close to family, i also think i could actually live a new life there, but what if it doesnt turn out the way i expected, im still young, im 15, so this is a very hard decision for me. I could have the choice of staying her with one of the family members but be seperated from my siblings, who are still young so it doesnt affect them,i dont want to be seperated from them either. But after highschool arent we gonna be seperated aneway to go to college? I justdontwanttoendawreck. I just need something to hear that has meaning, because i just dont know what to do and its killing me..thx

She is a two year old German Shepard, my 1 year old pit bull decided to tie with her on Sept. 3rd a few times my kids said (they thought they were playing lol), so she would be about a month now. She seems to be swelling around her teets, but her belly isnt really that much bigger. She is still eating normal, although more affectionate and sleeping a lot more. She is really swollen in her vulva area.
I figured out the dates and if she is she would be due around October 29th sometime.
I plan on taking her to the vet on the 17th (thats the soonest they can see her) but like to know something sooner. Should she be really noticeable at 1 month or is that too soon to tell? Any help would be great...
"Please no comments about spaying her - I dont mind her being pregnant and will be taken care of along with her babies"

My fiance is pretty well off. He can really take care of me financial-wise. But he is such a workaholic, so he's always too tired for sex, I feel like I am only second place. My Ex is the opposite. He always had energy, we had so much fun. But he had no ambition, so I broke up with him. I think I love him more than my fiance. And he says he still loves me and wants me back. If money wasn't an issue, I would definitely pick my ex. But I don't wanna end up swimming in debt, cuz I still have to pay my student loans...Help please?

I have one female guppy in my one gallon tank. I know the tank is small, but I am not going to put anymore fish in, and she seems happy. My tank is about 2 weeks through the cycling process, and I have been doing about a 10% water change daily. I have been feeding my guppy one small flake each day. Is this the right amount. I am trying really hard not to overfeed her because of the small tank. She eats it right away, within seconds, and I resist the urge to give her more. I've read that you are supposed to feed fish just what they can consume in 5 minutes, but that seems like I would be feeding her too much. What do you think?

Some people believe that everyone does not cross over to the next life, immediately after their death. It takes some people longer, to cross over to the next life. What do you think of that? I kind of have mixed feelings on that issue.

"He that is without sin may cast the first stone."

Although we do not stone anoyone literally with stones anymore(some do sadly), your words act the same. Who are you to judge a home wrecker, homosexual, liar, theif, murderer, someone not obeying parents, adulterer, rapist, pagan, etc.?

I'm sure that you have done one of those in your life time...

So think about what Jesus said when the men of His time wanted to stone that adulterer..."He who is without sin may cast the first stone"...that next time you start spewing on about promiscuity, homosexuality, abortion...

Jesus was a man far beyond His years and His morals and actions STILL permeate through the world today: love thy neighbor, bless thy enemy, turn the other cheek...but why can't we follow His words?

Shape up brethren...for it's a fine line between being moral and being a sinner...
