1. Human, baby, dog, cat etc shampoos are horrible on guinea pig skin, they are wayy to harsh. You need a small animal shampoo, this can be found a pet stores, just check that they have no incesticides etc in them. I personally, have never heard of Pet Sensations, if it is made for Small Animals than it is fine, this link has a few shampoos http://www.guinealynx.info/grooming.html#bathing which are suitable for guinea pigs.
2. How long have you had them? Keep them in a large spacious cage, in a busy part of the house hold, cuddle them alot and have them out for floor time and you should fine that they settle down. Building a relationship with a guinea pig takes time so have patience.
3. This noise could be numerous things, my girls tend to talk to me when I hold them amongst purring. Here are a couple of sites which may help http://www.jackiesguineapiggies.com/guineapigsounds.html , http://www.diddly-di.fsnet.co.uk/Communication.htm and http://www.mgpr.org/MGPR/Guinea%20Pig%20Sounds.htm
4. You cant play with guinea pigs as such, they are not like dogs. Investing in a play pen is an excellent idea, this way they can enjoy supervised time outside chomping on grass amongst other things. Guinea pigs are curious as a pose to playful, keep that in mind.
5. Ok, here we go:
- Their Binomial name is Cavia Porcellus (Porcellus is latin for little pig)
- Guinea pigs were first domisticated as early as 5000BC
- Guinea pigs, like humans and apes, can not produce their own vitamin c
- When born they are fully haired, with teeth fully grown and eyes wide open (basically ready to run straight out of the womb) and eating solids within days
- The oldest guinea pig according to The Guiness Book Of Records 2006 is 14 years and 10.5 months
- Their lifespan ranges between 5-8 years of age
6. I imagine that your guinea pigs are still getting used to their surroundings, once they come out of their shells they are incredibly talkative.

The shampoo you're using sounds like it smells nice. There are others made for small animals, but we use organic, cruelty-free baby shampoo for our guinea pig & rat boys. It's gentle & has a very faint but pleasant smell.
You don't mention how long you've had your pigs, but it does take time to build trust & I think they're *always* a bit nervous even when they love you-- it's just their nature.
They make soft sounds when they are contented or simply to communicate. Ours usually does this when I'm holding him, or if anyone's petting him.
Many guinea pigs enjoy being brushed or combed & if they've got long hair they need frequent brushing. Another thing you can do is make a room (or a blocked-off area) safe for your little ones & let them run around. When we put ours in his playpen, our kitten usually jumps right in & lies down near the pig-- they're pretty good buds but I keep a close eye on them just to be safe.
One reason for being relatively quiet is that they may still be getting used to you. I didn't hear a sound from our pig for the 1st few days after we adopted him. He sure makes up for it now tho ;-) Also, they each have a unique personality like everyone else, & some are just quieter than others.
Enjoy your little guys.

#1, I dunno. I've always used Johnson's bcs it works really reall well
#2 - food, bcs the way to their heart is tyhrought their stomach. Tha means veggies n fruits...
#3 I'm not really sure what you're asking... when they "talk" to you it means their happy...
#4 watch them, play w/ them, take them to shows... show them off to your friens...
#5- they are the only creatures besides apes and humans that have bodies which don';t produce vitamin C
They are NOT called hamsters :P
Their babies are born fully furred and "ready to go" unlike most animals.
They are way cuter than most everything else (including humans! :P)
#6 I don't know. Maybe because they are well - fed. If you forgoet to feed them then when they hear you they will start making a racket to get your attention...
Guinea pigs rock!!!

Girl, your lucky I'm a Palauan.... See if you like your pet to love you don't feed it until two days and then start feeding him/her..... But start slowly, never start by feeding the pet really hard... I mean like just feeding right away.. Just feed it with the right amount of food just to make it start to get used to you.... Make sure your the only one feeding it... It will get use to a person to feeding it all the time..... And don't mind for the noise that it makes.... Just get use to it and then you will get along just fine..... Later......:-)
