I have just graduated high school and am applying to join the police. They want to know details of my employment history and contact details of my past employers. I have only had one paid job, in retail, which I resigned last week. The trouble is, I resigned without notice because my boss was a complete a**hole and make me work 8 hours continuously without a break (which he denies). I know he is going to give me an absolutely horrible reference when the police recuiting staff ring him.

All other aspects of my appication are great: academic history, academic ability, physical testing, no criminal record, etc.

My question is, will this horrible reference fom my only employer seriously jeopardize an otherwise good application?

What should I do? The system worked properly until now.

I had problems coming out of standby so had to force reboot. It prompted me for the system disk and after going to repair with the CD it says:

"Setup did not find any hard disk drives make sure they are powered on and properly connected to your computer, and that any disk-related hardware configuration is correct this may involve running a manufacturer supplied diagnostic or setup program."

"Setup cannot continue. To quit setup press F3"

The United Nations have done nothing but to send envoys in the past which resulted to nothing but sanctions. A massacre of 3000 peaceful demonstrators in 1990's, both from the religious and social classes is a clear violation of human rights and abuse of power, just recently another demonstration was quelled by force by the military junta where more than 300 were believed killed. I believe UN needs to act on these abuses and massacres by the Junta. Those happenings were clear genocides and no action but sending an envoy was done by the UN which is supposed to be the protector of the world. Was it because Burma is a tiny poor nation compared to Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran and North Korea? And nothing like oil can be siphoned from this poor country? As an ordinary citizen in your country, do you believe UN have to send its troops to Burma, unseat the junta's leaders and install an interim government just like what they did in Iraq and Afghanistan?

What if you had to move away from your home town when you were 15, then in H.S. you chose friends perhaps known as the "druggies", started smoking pot, eventually drinking, and blacking out 3 times a week from getting drunk. I can't smoke pot anymore, or drink. How do you start over again? I don't even want to do that stuff even though I can't anymore (other issue) so wein, wine, cry, yeah , yeah., why not try this question

I tried to graph that, but it came out with a line. I think it's because my graphing calculator expanded the top to (x+2)(x-2), and then the (x-2)'s cancel out.

So, how would you graph this question? I need to find the domain, range, intercepts, and asymptotes. All i know is that the asymptote is 2.

At what point, at what stage or in what situation, do we begin to die? I am not talking of our physical form as in physical death but rather emotionally and mentally. Also what would happen if one were to die emotionally, could one be 'reborn' as a different emotional person?

Secondly, or physical bodies require three things to maintain us, water; food and air. Is there a similar set of requirements needed for or emotional and mental health and life? If so what?

And finally, If there is a required set of inputs for our emotional and mental health, is it possible to provide, like a patient in a hospital would be fed by introvenous and nasogastric tubes and allowed to breath by respirators, is there a way to feed those most at risk from emotional and mental death what they require? If so how?

Please explain your answers to one or all of these questions.

I've already lived through the worst of it,...I've taken hold of my own responsibility in the matter. I've admitted it and it pains me to absolutely no end. I am grieving. Beyond belief. I've gotten us into some serious financial peril. I know. On the other hand, so has he with his “wants” turned “need.” But at the same time, I want to fix it as best as I can so as to move past this stagnant little … well, let’s just say, this pond.. Where do we go from here? I'm about as mucked as I can possibly be...how to clean up the mess now? ...haul it out and make fertilizer out of it and buy a new horse? I could leave the situation Scot free with precious few ramifications but I feel it is my responsibility to repair some of the damage I caused. The short story is that I don't see this relationship surviving it and it seems like he needs to vent on me more than he needs to heal. At what point does venting become healing or even abuse? From the looks of it on screen, I should seek out an appropriate shrink. From my vantage point, I see no way to rectify the matter(s) since he's not willing to move past it. It's been 2 months. We’ve been together for more than 7 years. Sometimes I wish I'd committed the crimes that I'm accused of now. Of some I'm guilty, of most, I’m not. Where do we go from here?

I am contemplating whether to break it off with my bf. He's short-tempered and moody and expects me to tolerate it. I alwayls have to understand him!!! He's stressed abt money, i try to understand him but he just pushing my limit. Its just frustrating and sad.

Just now, i had informed him of my new job offer and i felt that he didn't like my new job if i take it. His mood changed and he didn't want to discuss it with me anymore. I feel like crying.

Our daughter started kindergarten a month ago and a boy with a record of problems and bullying was reseated next to her. At first he was just mean, i.e. erasing pictures, small punches, kicks, etc. Then one day he grabbed her wrist and poked her three times with a pair of opened scissors. Then he cut off a few inches of her hair. School principle and administrators have no plan to remove him citing his 'right to and education'. We are networking with parents, lawyers, media, anything to get this kid out. We think he obviously needs a special setting or help of some sort. But the school is steadfast saying we can move our kid if we want. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as we are both highly disgusted, pissed and at our wits end. Thank you.
