Most celing fans use hermetically sealed bearings that you cannot oil. If you CAN oil yours, there will be a hole with the word OIL next to it.

Fans shouldn't need oiling unless it's some really old, weird, off the wall ceiling fan . Are you sure there isn't some screws loose? Try tightening every single screw you see on the fan. Maybe its just wore out? I like the answer about looking for the word "oil" stamped on the steel somewhere.....if you can find it. good luck

The warranty issue aside, even "sealed" bearings in a harsh enough atmosphere need to be lubricated periodically. I have a home with seven overhead fans next to the sea and they all need to be lubed occasionally. Most often the bottom bearing though, since that one is the most exposed. Use an aerosol lube or aerosol silicone with the little tube nozzle and you can put the lube exactly where you want it on the shaft. Yes it is safe unless you forget to turn the fan off before you work on it or fall off the ladder....

The motor should never need oiled. Just tighten the screws once in a while, and vaccume and wash it. That's all . If you spray things like WD-40, or similar stuff into it, your only creating something for the dust and dirt to stick to. Don't do it. Byee

Use some WD-40. You can buy it at Walmart and most grocery stores. It has a little nozzle that you insert into the sprayer for areas you want the lubricant applied to the most.
