I read it in a school library sometime around 1988. To the best of my memory, the first part is about a girl who is locked in a government fallout shelter with her father, who is restocking the shelter when a nuclear attack occurs. The second part of the book deals with the attempt to rebuild society by the decendents of survivors, who have lost almost all knowledge of technology. I do not think it is either "Strange Tomorrow" by Jean Karl or "Children of the Dust" by Louise Lawrence. Any possible suggestions (or even similarly themed books) would be appreciated. Thanks!

I am a Deist, but I attend a non-denominational Christian Church with my wife. Yesterday, before church, I was feeling somewhat depressed and my anxiety was high for no particular reason. At church, many of the people were friendly to me. I got hugs from several ladies and social interaction with many of the men about things like football, work, etc. (Of course, none of them know I am not a Christian) Our kids were playing and having fun. The music which was played by the Christian Rock band sounded nice. I must admit that all of these things made me feel better. As I stood there listening to the music, I could not help but wonder if this warm, fuzzy feeling that I got from the music, social interaction and friendly people is what people mistake for being God or the Holy Spirit. I, being familiar with the ridiculous inconsistencies of the Bible, was able to remain grounded in reality, but I could see how someone who desperately wanted to believe in a higher power could think this warm, fuzzy feeling, was something supernatural. My question is: Anyone that knows anything about human psychology knows that being warm and friendly to one another, listening to music, and helping each other can dramatically lift the spirits of people. So, what do you think made me feel better yesterday? Was it God, or was it simply nice people and social interaction? I believe it was the latter.

I work in a hospital and on occasion there are AIDs patients and a few HIV patients. It seems that with the PC campaign about the disease, I think people have forgotten how cruel that disease can be. People with HIV have to make frequent trips to the hospital, take loads of medication, and it is expensive. AIDs is another story. I wouldn't wish advanced stages on my worst enemy.

I download from Limewire. I have Windows Media Player now, although I'm used to ITunes (which I no longer have). My entire operating system on my PC had to be reinstalled, so that got rid of ITunes.

I have no clue how to transfer downloads to Media Player and burn a CD from them. Any suggestions?

I had one, two years ago....long story, but i have been on here, asking about the afterlife, as a friend passed last week, and i am trying to console another friend, as i am convinced they are in the Spirit World now, as i have *seen* it for myself.
I was given a link to a website, all about Near Death Experience, and i am gobsmacked! at the things i read. Not only, have i changed as a person, i have become very! compassionate, to the needs of others, i always was, but i am more so now. I took in a homeless pregnant girl, for a short period, as she needed help, even though, it was very inconvenient, as i have a large family, but i had to help her, i wanted to. I have also acquired an aversion to meat????? i LOVED meat, before my accident, and experience, but for some unknown reason, i cannot! stomach it. I live on fish. The site said, in most cases, NDE r`s develop an aversion to meat! I am totally gobsmacked now, could this just be a coincidence?

some tell me that i am not christ&am not to do as he did. they say that he has died for us all & that i am to just be a good person living right, caring about others, but not as far as to risk my own salvation in doing so. i say that the bible tells me that if i am wish to save myself, i will lose my life. but that if i i lay my life down for others, that this is the way to true salvation. for our heavenly kingdom is a kinkdom of god. how can i acheive the goal of being in the heavenly kingdom of god, less all people are there with me, for god is all in all&if one person is left out then the kingdom is not of god. this shows the great importance of loving your neighbor as yourself, because being one with christ is to be one with all and your neighbor is part of you. it is no longer i but him who is in me&he is all things. though i come in the flesh that you partake of, i do not war against this, i have only put it on to help you find the way out. i lay my life down&will take it back up

The Devil says that nobody really loves Jehovah.
He says that YOU & I don't love God
and that we don't really want to do what God says.
He says that we obey Jehovah only
when everything goes the way we like it.
Is the Devil right ?
Are we like that ?

I think it's more the other way around.
We look to God, lean upon Him,
when things aren't going the way we like them to be.

I know, not every1 loves God.
That's why I addressed this 2 Christians, of all sects.
The Devil is the Enemy of the human race.

1. If you are using Viagra do you stay erect after orgasm (if so how long after).
2. Viagra (and other ED drugs) seem to be popular subjects in Men's Health, is ED really that prevalent among younger men. I am assuming that it is younger men writing/reading this forum.

Who sings that hard rock song from the 80's? I know what you need but I ain't got the clues. One phrase they throw in there though is: Don't tell me you love me... Don't tell me you love me... - Man if I could tell you the lyrics dude you would know. It’s a song I absolutely loved that came out, I think, during the Lover Boy era. HELP
