It is both ways. The world loves the things of the world. Christians love the things of Jehovah God, which are no part of this world. People turn to God when things go bad. When things are great, they forget Jehovah. The devil is right when it comes to the world. The world does not know Jehovah. You CANNOT love who you don't know!!!!!!! If you REALLY know Jehovah, then you will love Him simply because of who He is.

Satin is an opposer and as such he has the system set up to lead all away from the creator and his son Jesus or anything positive. He knows his time is short in what he wants to do and his timing is similar to the creators in that a 1000 yrs. is only short .So the few years he has been cast from heaven is indeed like a few hrs.and he like a raging lion has to devour all he can with his system of things to being negative and away from Jehovah. He is saying the same lie as he said to the first couple that they don't need Jehovah .So he offers every other alternative to detract from true worship. IE.. Like in the perfect mans case(JESUS) he asked for only one act of worship.

Yes, Satan says we only love Jehovah cause we know there is something in it for us.
As human nature goes, he's somewhat right. A real Christian has to think in Godly terms all the time to keep Satan from sneaking into our thoughts. Christians must be on guard or "Keep on the watch" at all times. Satan knows us very well, he's had more time at this than each of us has at being human after all.

Here's something Satan may have not considered .
Serving Jah is as walking in the sun.
Sure we get the warmth and the light but we also get all the vitamins and other good things we get.
In other words,Jehovah is so righteous that you can not help but get some blessing from serving him
Once I got some accurate knowledge of who Jehovah is it was a 'no brainer'.Really!

It's hard with "the world lying in the power of the wicked one." Sometimes it seems we are set up for failure because sin is ingrained in us. However, we can fight against it and as you said draw closer and lean on God even more. So it can have the opposite effect if we have the faith and loyalty in our hearts.
Satan, his demons and all their followers days are numbered so he is trying to discourage all of Jehovah's people and he is trying to satisfy his own perversion bringing innocent ones down with him. Keep the faith, Bambi!
May Jehovah bless and protect you.

Satan is the great tempter, our accuser before God. It's funny how he tempts us to do things, and then he points at us and says, "Ha, look, he did this [evil] thing!" He accuses us of the very things he does himself and tempts us to do.
Satan knows that his time is short, and he hates the human race, because God loves it. So he hates humanity, and wants to take as many with him as possible before he is destroyed.
