Hello,
I'm French so sorry for the mistakes.
I'm a student at university and I would like to become a teacher of the English language.
My own experience tells me that language teachers do get a foreign accent when they speak their mother tongue.
So here are some questions about that:
How to get a foreign accent (I mean permanently?
I mean, if I speak English for example 4 or 5 hours a day which will happen later on when I'm a teacher, is it "enough" to get an English accent in my native language?.

And another one:
How do you get rid of a particular accent, or try to take one accent?
This counts for short changes (films...) and for definitive alterations in one's accent.
I have a German accent in French which bothers me a lot, that's why I'm asking.

Do you think it's better to keep your original accent when yu are a language teacher?

Lately while I am driving the warning lights on my dash that warn you of open doors light up. It just flashes on for a sec or 2 then goes off. Does anyone know what could be causing this??

I have seen a few vets turn traitor by questioning the President, and the war for Freedom in Iraq (like swiftboat coward John Kerry). I say anyUS military Veteran who engages in such subversion shouild lose all VA benifits. I expect liberals to hate America- by their very character they hate freedom- But Veterans have NO excuase to attack our leaders- and they have NO right to backstab the troops.
All the US soldiers in Iraq are heroes, and want to be there.
Do you think Veterans who hate America (and they are a super small minority) should be allowed to spew their venom?

Speaking out against Pres Bush or the war in Iraq should result in total cancelation of a vet's VA benifits.

My boss's 2 year daughter has mono. Do you think it is wrong for him to bring her to the office, exposing all of us to mono, just so he can check on stuff, while his little one runs around the office talking to everyone (she is cute so it is hard to ignore her). When we said something about it, he acted offended as if there was no reason we should be skittish about her being here in the office with us. Duh . . . there's a reason they are not letting her go to daycare . . .

I've seen the suggestion that we change our title to something new, warm, and friendly.



Which do you value more, the truth or the package it comes in? Liberals have become Progressives, Conservatives are now Compassionate Conservatives, and I hear that Joy is "New" and improved. Do you really trust them more for the oily smoothness of their reinvention?



Here is a novel thought, let us forward our ideas by the use of of compelling and well reasoned arguments. Reason has the advantage of being an honest appeal, and not an act of manipulation. New labels are not needed to forward old truths.



I am an atheist. I am proud of the fact that I have followed where reason has lead. I will not give those that reject my views the appearance of some wrong doing on my part by trying by hiding behind another name.

I am living next door to a lady who has been evicted several times and is causing all sorts of problems with all the other tenants (pepper spraying tenants, following, etc.). She will not leave b/c she keeps filing for extentions. My landlord went to court for all this and now she has til the 30th at 5pm to be out or the Sheriff will be here to physically remove her from the building. Or so I have been told. I am now hearing that if she doesnt leave there is nothing we can do. I am wanting written proof that this psycho is going to be out! I do not want to have to move b/c I am paying dirt cheap rent for the size of apt. that I am in and if I would move I would be paying double. If I call the police station or courthouse, what all can I get copies of?

before i go shopping i look into the cabinets and fridge/freezer to see what i need and dont need.

so i did this. went shopping. came home to put the grocery's away, low and behold theres empty boxes in the storage space.

come to find out my son's eat the food then put the empty boxes back on the shelves and in the fridge.

bottom line i have to reshop to replace the food that i thought i already have.

sooooo annoying. i though geat one chore out of the way. but, nope.

do your family do stuff like this?

tell what. such as buying family pack's of dove soap. but by the end of the week it's gone coz the kid's leave the soap in the tub for it to melt away. can i just say that soap (Dove) is EXPENSIVE! grrrrrrrr

When i was 15 years old my aunt came to our place for search of job at that time she was 21 and she came from village. As i was younger, we used to sleep in the same room. one day while i was sleeping she storked my penis thinking that iam asleep but i was awake and feeling very embarrsed so did not had the guts to open my eyes. After sometime of stroking by her i felt like heaven. From that time onwards we used to had sex at night time both used to act as we are asleep. when she used to do some thing with me i used to act sleeping when i used to something with her she used to act sleeping. but in the day time we used to behave like normal aunt and nephew, It continued for 2 years after that she got married and left this place and settled in another town. its 10 years now.Recently her husband posted near to my place. so frequently she visits my home and have good rappo with my folks. New York Rep. Peter King, a prominent House Republican, said there are “too many mosques in this country” in a recent interview with Politico.

Excuse me Representative King I thought one of my country's bedrock principles was freedom of religion or did they change the law and I missed it?

Do you wonder about it, like me? It's the very thing that differentiate true Christianity from all other religions.
