Greyhound started it to promote their safety image. I'm not sure of exactly when it began, but I can remember the headlights on Greyhound buses being on at all times back in the early 1960s.

i dont know about the buses, but starting in the very late 80's, i started to notice more and more semi's driving with the lights on.

I'm not sure, but buses and trucks started it. Then somebody thought it would be a good idea for cars, too.

i think in US..that is of no use..for those who want head light in day time to drive, how did they get vision test done and got a licence..?it was by some politicians who interested in money..
