How did people in the 1700's show identification??

summer? All summer long I see elderly women in warm winter coats, with hand knitted hats for winter, and I was wondering why? Please don't tell me its the air conditioning, these women are out walking in the 82 degree heat!

My apartment's balcony overlooks another property, a house with a small apartment with a carport in it that people rent from them. These people are terrible. Not only do they have mulitple people living there (i've seen up to 8 cars there), these people are probably illegally in the US as well. There is trash, garbage, buckets, pop bottles and yard waste all over their yard and driveway, and also on the road in front of their driveway. Their bushes and other plants are overgrown, the grass in their yard is over two feet tall!
I've tried calling my city hall and I just have left messages to the code enforcement officer. I've called the police for advice and they don't can't do anything about it until it's checked out.
Does anyone have any advice? I can't go and talk to the people, since they do not speak any English and are very rude when we've asked them to turn down the 'musica'.
Help! I can't take standing on my balcony and looking down on this anymore.

Hi,
I would like to move out of my apartment without paying the last month's rent, because I've heard that my landlord doesn't return the deposit to anybody.
The apartment is supposed to be rent stabilized but it's not.
My lease expired a month ago and my landlord has raised the rent and gave me a one month to think,without a written notice, just verbally.
I live in NY city

It takes time for me to get to know people and feel comfortable around them.

Is it bad that I'm this way???

I think it will actually come in handy, because I wouldn't want to get to know somebody fast if they turned out to be creepy or something. And I listen to my intuition about others.

We have to do this assignment is 7th Grade History and we have to make a brouchure about the Early Americas. You had to pick one of the European countries to show what they did in the Americas and where they founded colonies. I chose England andI have all the information I need, but I don't know whay pictures to put in te brouchure. It's suppos to be like on of those that makes you wanna go th Hawaii, but I have to make people from the 16-1700's want to come to America. What pictures should I put in it? I want a good bit of pics. And I was thinking about putting a picture of the 13 colonies in it. What else should I? Thanks for your help. BTW, it has to be done by Tuesday of next week and we get an hour and 10 min everyday to work on it in school.

long story short my dogs vet said i should get this male stray cat to get used to humans if i want to take him to a shelter to get adopted(no kill). Now im only 14, and i already have a dog so i dont think it will work.
