I would say yes, there is cheating going on. I slept with russian whores, and one time I came back from deployment and found a naked man dangling from the window sill, so I think just maybe my wife cheated on me too. It doesn't mean all service members and their spouses cheat, but whether you like it or not, it is pretty much a part of the military.

People who are deployed are not technically supposed to be having sex unless they are lucky enough to be deployed in the same unit as their spouse...and even then it is a command decision to allow them to live together or not.
I am absolutely not saying that it doesn't happen...yes there are people who "cheat" while deployed...just like there are spouses back home who cheat. The only real way to avoid this situation is to stay true to yourself and your relationship (whether married or not) Cheating sucks, and even though 6 or 12 or 15 months is a long time to be apart there are ways to stay close emotionally so that physical intimacy is not used to fill the void.
As for Camp Warhorse, I have never been there, and I don't know anyone who was deployed there...all I can really say is "where there's a will, there's a way" it's happening on all the FOB and Camps...it's not like a brothel or a free love fest or anything, but there are people doing it and getting away with it...for singles, as long as you don't end up pregnant no one really cares (for the most part) for couples separated by deployment all you can do is keep the communication open and be there any way you can during the time apart and hopefully your relationship is strong enough to make it through this test.

A lot of things in the Army are exaggerated and take on lives of their own.
Often times a tiny handful of people are cheating and it becomes sort of an open secret, but everyone starts talking like everyone is doing it. Pretty soon they start calling their camp by another name presto the myth is complete!
Don't believe everything you hear, because most of it is hyperbole and gossip. The Army does not tolerate cheating, so if someone gets caught they face some UCMJ action for it. Not to say there aren't those who do cheat, but the cost is pretty high when they get caught.

My son just got out of the Air Force after doing six years. He says that he would never be married and in the service. He has MANY stories of the cheating that went on in the bases. (Like wives putting boxes of a certain detergent in the window when thier husband was away, ect) Of course, this was on the many bases he was at. In Iraq he was in a tent with alot of other men in the dessert and thier was no women and they did not go off base. Most of the cheating went on in the bases.

I was not there but my 22 years plus of military service has taught me that military spouses cheat on each other A LOT. This is why I have never had a girlfriend or wife the whole time I have been in uniform. I don't need the aggravation. So the name Camp Whorehouse is more than likely very appropriate.

I haven't been to Iraq, but I would imagine it would be hard to hook up. I don't think the soldiers have too much privacy. When I was in Korea though, probably 50% of the guys cheated on their wives. My cousin was in Iraq and his wife and kids stayed behind in Texas on post, she cheated on my cousin with 2 different men.

I think that the real question would be how many military spouses are cheating while their betrothed are fighting for our freedoms. I was born and raised in a military town and am disgusted at the way that fidelity goes out the window as soon as our soldiers are out of sight.

Let's see we are there fighting Islamic Extremists so I figure any whores to the Yankees would be killed very quickly. Plus they don't go for that in the local religion(whoring).
I think it is inflated and falls on some of the less discrete lady GI's. No USAF personnel report any such activity at their locations.
Quit worrying, there is far more cheating going on in the USA than in Iraq

Considering COBs (such as speicher) have a large female population it's easier to cheat opposed to smaller fobs that have no females in them... That's on the individual though
