Sure. But keep in mind that your landlord can sue you for the rent! Your security deposit does NOT cover the rent, only damage to the property.

You can but your landlord will take the deposit anyways and then say you didn't pay last month's rent. It never looks good in court when a landlord says that you messed up the place and didn't pay the last month's rent.

It is ALWAYS possible to leave without paying. It is NEVER legal. MOST landlords DO return the deposit unless you leave the apartment damaged.

hi, i'm a landlord interior the Baltimore section. i'm hoping which you're charging him a prior due value. Now you may desire to remeber that a tenat has rights additionally, and that's not that trouble-free to evict somebody. additionally, this is going to be a headache and value alot of money in case you bypass to court docket via court docket expenses and criminal expert value. Landlords can not forcibly get rid of their tenants. with a view to evict, a landlord could desire to first convey an "unlawful Detainer" action against the tenant. that's a criminal proceeding performed till now a district court docket. To convey such an action, in spite of the fact that, the owner could desire to teach reason (have a valid reason). in accordance to state regulation, valid reasons could be nonpayment of lease, or different breach of the lease, or cases the place the tenant has refused to bypass away after observe to vacate has been good served and the tenancy's final day has surpassed solid success
