I would like my husband and I to take little time out for our selfs before the baby comes is there any place thats nice and affordable right on the outskirts of New York, when I say places hotels with indoor swimming pool.

Visit the foliage along the Hudson River. Best place to see the leaves turning color is West Point Military Academy. There are some nice places to stay at Highland Falls, right next to West Point.

How far out do you want to go ? The outskirts of NY to me means Queens...and I don't think you will find any nice little getaway in Queens.
Otherwise...try The Garden City Hotel in Garden City, Long Island. It's the only 5 Star Hotel in Nassau County and it is absolutely gorgeous. It's going to cost you $$$$ though...but it's worth every penny.
And it has an indoor pool...

The Catskills have some lovely spots. The Mohonk Mountain House is very nice, but a bit pricey.
