Today my 97 Plymouth Breeze started smoking. The smoke was coming from the air-conditioner compressor (or the belt). The car was brought to a main-stream auto repair shop, where I was told I would need a new compressor and various other parts totaling $1200 + tax. I asked if the A/C could just be bypassed and was told it could not.

After speaking with various other people and auto-parts stores, I discovered that not only was it possible to bypass the A/C, but there is actually a part called a 'bypass pulley.' I was also told that by simply turning the A/C off, the belt would be free to move.

I guess my question is really how to bypass the A/C and would turning the A/C off fix the problem on a seized compressor (vs. just a compressor that simply wasn't working, but not seized).

There is a hole in the wall of my basement that used to be where the sump pump hose drained outside. I recently had my basement waterproofed and, when they put in a new sump pump, they did not use this hole so it is not just an open hole that is letting water run in. What is the best substance to fill the hole? It's about 2 inches across. Would something like "Great Stuff" work? Of do I need something more hard core?

Why would anyone purposefully choose eternal death over eternal life? God places two choices before each and every person who ever lives - either eternal life or eternal death. As with all choices, each one carries responsibilities and consequences.

1- You choose eternal life by believing God for His Word and obeying His plan for your life.

2- You choose eternal death by ignoring God and His Word and His plan for your life.

Now it doesn't matter that there is no proof of God. So that is not an excuse. I can't prove He exists and you cannot prove He doesn't. He is a spirit - not flesh and blood like you. You must come to Him entirely in faith and you get that faith by reading and hearing His Word - the Hoily Scriptures. It also doesn't matter that you don't like His perfect plan of salvation. He created you. You would not be alive without Him. So He calls all the shots - like it or not. He is the Creator and you are a pile of dust. The bottom line? Life or death - which 4U?

It was something like, you can tell a story chronologically but it will hardly ever be interesting that way? Sound familiar?

I had this boyfriend for a long time, we were together for about 4-5 years, then we broke up. For about a year or so we didn't see or spoke to each other. Then we met again, and we began talking and stuff, we have a nice friendship we're very close friends. Obviously Im still in love with him. He's never had another girlfriend after me, i mean he dates and stuff but not a gf. Same with me. Last night he called to tell me about this new girl he had been dating...and my advice was...take her out of the picture...forget about her ...and he said yeah i will...and he did it.
I need to know, how can I tell him that I still love him without being...umm ridiculous? or how can i get to see him just as a very close friend, who usually tells me nice things and invites me to dinner and hangs out w me a lot? THANKS

The vision in my left eye is 20-10, and the right eye is 20-50.

When I was little, I wore an eyepatch ... and then had an eye operation ... and then I stopped wearing glasses ... but then my vision in the right eye started crapping out ...

So I have one "bionic eye" and one sorta-blind eye.

Whenever I'm in a room w/low light, my right eye turns in.

It's really annoying. o __o

My eye doctor said there's nothing he can do, and if my good eye happens to get poked out or something, I'm screwed.

It makes reading difficult, too.

wtf can I do?

I got engaged to my boyfriend 9 months ago and we have already set a date and decided on our colors and the general theme of the wedding. My fiances sister recently got engaged about 2 weeks ago. She has all of the same ideas for her wedding as I do, including the color, but it didn't matter too much to me because she had set her date for 5 months after mine. Well, once she found out that we have all the same ideas, she rescheduled her wedding date to just 4 WEEKS BEFORE MINE!!! I've thought about rescheduling to an earlier date, but not only do I not want to seem childish, I also received a FREE honeymoon from a family member as a gift that can only be taken in the month we had set. I really don't want to seem like a "copy-cat" wedding, and most of all I feel like her wedding will take most of the excitement out of mine! Any advice on what I should do??

Basically I'm learning Portuguese and I'm trying to decided if I should study aboard in Brazil or Portugal. I'm sure I'd have an amazing time in either country, but I'm curious to know if Brazilians can understand people from Portugal and vice versa.

Do you kneel down, lie down with your face in the dirt or look up at the sky, standing proud?

I met this boy at Uni 2 yrs ago & we became pretty good friends. I wasn't initially considering anything else but his friendship, but after a while I felt like he was showing a lot of interest & I started having feelings for him beyond friendship. I eventually told him early this year...and that's when things went off. He said he really liked me but didn't see this spark between the 2 of us. I was heart-broken, yet I couldn’t but respect his own feelings as he’d been respectful of mine (he was nearly torn apart when we talked about it, saying he didn’t know what he wanted, jst that he didn’t want to hurt me; and there’s been lots of touch & tenderness that time).
Anyway, bck then he said he wanted our friendship to continue & I believe it but now he’s become distant. We used to have fun & enjoy each other’s company so much, teasing, laughing at things and others. Now I get the feeling he’s smtimes annoyed when he sees me & though he tries to act casually, things seem forced & awkward
