They're called Interstates because they're federally funded with money shared among the states. There are other "Interstate" highways that don't cross state lines. They're intrastate interstates.

That is just the name for a road built to modern standards using federal money. It doesn't mean they go between states.

In Massachusetts there is Interstate 495. It make a big loop around the Boston area but is entirely within the state of Massachusetts.

They pay gas taxes that are supposed to be earmarked for interstate construction. Planning on keeping the money and giving them nothing? Its all politics.

I think there are 3 roads, first road number is 1, the second road number is 2, and the third road number is 3, and I am being serious, these are the road numbers!

I don't see how there could be. There is no "inter" about it. There are no adjacent states. You must be pulling my leg!
