Why would anyone purposefully choose eternal death over eternal life? God places two choices before each and every person who ever lives - either eternal life or eternal death. As with all choices, each one carries responsibilities and consequences.

1- You choose eternal life by believing God for His Word and obeying His plan for your life.

2- You choose eternal death by ignoring God and His Word and His plan for your life.

Now it doesn't matter that there is no proof of God. So that is not an excuse. I can't prove He exists and you cannot prove He doesn't. He is a spirit - not flesh and blood like you. You must come to Him entirely in faith and you get that faith by reading and hearing His Word - the Hoily Scriptures. It also doesn't matter that you don't like His perfect plan of salvation. He created you. You would not be alive without Him. So He calls all the shots - like it or not. He is the Creator and you are a pile of dust. The bottom line? Life or death - which 4U?

Here it is, pal. Follow along closely.

1. Atheists do not believe in God. They do not believe that there is an entity that created the world, and has a nasty attitude toward people who don't worship him. For atheists, God has the same sort of reality as Bugs Bunny or The Incredible Hulk. Do you worry about whether Bugs is getting enough carrots, or whether the Incredible Hulk might be angry with you?

Do you?

I suspect you don't. Think about that. That is the way atheists think about God and "eternal" life.

Since you can't prove God exists, can you entertain the possibility that you might be wrong?

Think about that for a moment.

And never, never, if you want to convince thinking people write things like. "which 4U?'

I'm not an Atheist, but I think they would prefer eternal death over eternal life because they get the impression that eternal life would be spent with obnoxious, patronizing, self-righteous, and generally utterly boring people. So the problem is that heaven sounds like hell.

As for me, I prefer to think of endless possibilities and not fuss too much over getting all calcified over one concept of God. Maybe God only gives eternal life or eternal death and your choice then is a false dichotomy. Or perhaps God does not exist, but via karma one is sent to heaven or hell? Or perhaps neither heaven nor hell nor God exist and something else entirely is in its place. The problem, you see, is that it is not just a matter of "this God or nothing," but "would the real God please stand up?" Unfortunately, there are so many variations of God out there that it's very easy to get confused as the right place to start - and I'm not just talking about all the different religions, but also the sects and variations just within Christianity. Have you really looked at the difference between Jehovah's Witnesses and Mormons and Baptists and Catholics and United Methodists and Lutherans and... Well, the list goes on and on, doesn't it? Fortunately, I do know the differences between those variations and many more, but still the answer of which one is *most* correct elludes me... I can understand why some people just give up and decide to say "there just must not be a God!" It's frustrating figuring out which truth is true. And as you said, you can't prove it! Very frustrating indeed! So some people just prefer to quit. I keep looking and, until the day the answer presents itself, I will keep looking. You, however, seem to have preferred to stick with one guess. To many atheists, that probably looks barely better than what they are doing themselves. But you're probably right that a 0.01% chance of being right is better than a 0% chance. At least you played the lotto.

Your argument does not take into account any perception of reality different than your own. Try the Buddhist one on for a change:

Why do you choose to remain unenlightened? You cling to your notions of God and concrete eternity, and these things are like the illusion of the moon on water. One day your eyes will open and you will find the reflection shattered by a stone in the water. Ultimate reality is ultimate reality, and there is no amount of faith that can change that. Why choose to remain unenlightened and emotionally turbulent when you could be serene in the face of the ultimate enlightenment?

Sure ..... can you tell me why are you so deluded? Why do you believe without proof?

1. You chose eternal delusion by believing in imaginary creature conjured up by olden people to control the mass.

2. You chose eternal sound of mind by striving to find out the truth then to believe blindly on some centuries old book.

Now it DOES matter that there is no proof of your imaginary creature. It is an excuse for you to hide from your responsibilies. You can't prove his existence. If you want me to prove his non-existence, first you need to proof to me the tooth fairies does not exist.

You THINK he is a spirit. You THINK only. Your THINKING is not a proof. Your DELUSION is not evidence. Your BLIND faith is not useful. Your IDEA of he created you is a myth.

Delusion or sound of mind, which 4 U?

Rhetorical ideas deny the existence of the universe -- and thus deny the true definition of God.

Therefore, one can only know God without religion or defining what god means. And since the universe is not self aware within the context of our thinking it is neither a being nor a consciousness.

All religions include dilemmas that direct readers away from this understanding.

Death was boring, and I would tell you more but you would not believe me.

I'm certain you mean well. Thank you for caring. I know that what you believe means so much to you and I understand that. I think that it's hard for believers to grasp that what you work so hard to have faith in is non existent. Your faith makes it real to you.

The creators of some faiths knew that they would need people to have great faith because there was nothing real to believe in. Reality doesn't require faith, ancient stories and mythical deities do.

EDIT: I stand corrected, you do not mean well, I mistook your pleas as something heartfelt. So my heart was open. I feel so sorry for you and all your bitterness, can you get your God to do something about that?

The same reason one chose to be faithful to a religion based on a book that is written off of transcript that cannot be confirmed as original. A religion that has been forced on so many people, generation after generation, that it has become so unclear to the point where one can justify his wrongdoings by giving his "faith" into it...

It is not that I don't believe in something "spiritual", it's that I don't think that man would ever be able to comprehend something beyond his realm of perception. (How does a fish see the world that is above the ocean?)

Well i choose not to believe in this "God" because its pointless. no one is perfect. No one can be saved by some sort of Jesus that died on a cross. A so called image. A blameless lamb??? Jesus was an idiot. He let himself die for nothing. He was a nut. He cant offer anything except some half drunken wine and piece of sh**ty bread. If he did cure anyone it was probably the person goin all crazy like whoa im healed, and then a couple days later. "awww im sick again." Then they would say "oh its because i lacked faith". no dumb a** it was because you lacked intelligence.

Every single thing you've just said represents your beliefs, and nothing more. Look, I have no problem with you believing what you want, but I have no reason to believe that it's anything other than myth.

And I wouldn't CHOOSE eternal death over eternal life. What makes you think I would CHOOSE that? Believe me, if there IS eternal life in a paradise somewhere, obviously I would love to have that. Wishful thinking, though, does not make it true. You believe what you believe, and I believe what I believe. I can't force myself to believe in something that makes no sense to me. God is someone else's story, someone else's belief. I can't believe in someone else's story just because they tell me I should, and then can't provide a scrap of evidence that their story has any truth.

Eternal life is a pipe dream, kid. God doesn't exist. No one is choosing to die--that will happen independently of any faith. God is imaginary.

Why not get used to the idea and live the only life you're ever going to have to the fullest? It doesn't make sense to me to waste time you'll never get back playing with an imaginary friend.

[Edit] "And so you shall die in your sins." So this is what your religion gives you, huh? You call US cold! Get help. Seriously.
