I don't see what the big deal with wearing black nail polish is... I wore it threw from the time I was in 6th grade until mid-way threw my freshman year of college (before it was trendy, and yes I was goth). My parents kinda freaked out and my grandma (who was 90 at the time) said 'Wow, that's some really dark nail polish' It was like "Yeah... it's black grandma" She was a little freaked out that people wear it. Ha ha. I really don't pay attention to the color of people's nails. I mean really, a nail color isn't going to tell me a lot about the person. I'm currently studying to be a psychologist... you tend to look past a lot of the physical things and get into the mental.

I don't judge those who wear black nail polish. However, from my personal experience, those folks who wear this color are trying to stand out in some way. They may clinical depressed, or simply looking for an outlet to express themselves. I don't really know for sure why a particular person would wear black polish . I would have to get to know that person and their true intentions for why they do anything they do. What truly motivates that person to do anything, including wearing black nail polish?? My best advice to those that do: do not worry about what other people think; if you are happy with yourself and have peace with that, then what other people think is irrelevant. For those that may not necessarily choose that color for themselves, don't judge people and make assumptions based solely on appearance. Don't judge a book by its cover, especially if that cover so happens to be sporting black polish.

I don't think there is just one category of people who wear black nail polish. People who wear black nail polish, wear it for different reasons.
My niece sometimes wears it to match what she's wearing... sometimes she wears it just to do something different.
Another young teen that I know, wears black nail polish just to do something silly (and to make her family notice).
It's fun to tease these gals and ask them if it hurt when they slammed the door on their hand... they laugh.
So, for the two girls I know, who enjoy black nail polish, I think they are perfectly and delightfully wonderful girls.

it's not really possible to form an opinion of someone based on that. it's just a color. wearing black nail polish isn't any different than wearing red, pink, blue, or whatever other color.

I love black nail polish. But some loser people might think that you are goth so I wear a very dark purpleish blue color that looks almost black but isn't.
I hope I could help!
