To me, it is. It's really just a teenager/college age thing....not for adults.

It can be. Some friends can offer emotional support. Others are just there because they're a way to pass the time. And there's a select group of friends that fate likes to reserve for you. A select group that takes your deepest secrets, deepest thoughts that you trust them with, tell the world about them, and then give a sweet smile. It's the bad friends that can usually make a person think that all friendship is overrated.

Not at all, but I consider popularity overrated. Some people need a friend for support.

Only peopel who dont have substantial friends could ask that. Friends are the best thing in life. They make life fun, happy, sad and bad. But thats what life is about, its a rollercoaster. But without friends, who would ya talk to about whats going on in your life, who would ya ask if ya look fat, who would ya go to the movies whith when ya partner is giving you the s*its? You need to find some good friends, real friends who give a rats about you and want to help you and know about your life. Good friends are the best thing to happen to anyone

actually I have spent a bit of time in new places without having friends and it is really hard. So I would have to say no, having friends is not overrated.

However having quality friends is important, not just random people that you associate with.

No, you always don't know when you need some friends. If something goes wrong you can always get help from them. You help them in return. As long as it is a fair two-way street, noone gets used. Bad things happen when I drink alone.

Real friends are worth their weight in gold. They are incredibly valuable.
Acquaintances are a different story. They have no useful purpose at all, except, get in the way.

Most definitely... i think it is why more and more people have less friends in life and more on line... they can't irritate and muck up things like they could in person!
