Does Mitral Valve Prolapse ALWAYS cause an abnormal heart sound, or a clicking sound when the doctor uses a stethoscope? And, is it ALWAYS present on an echocardiogram? I ask because I have a lot of the symptoms of MVP, but, I have had a couple different echocardiograms all of which appeared normal. AND, I've had a stethoscope to my heart a LOT, and nothing has ever been heard. PLUS, I had a cardiologist suspect a PFO (hole in heart), so he went INSIDE of my heart through my groin area to check and said that my heart looked fine. I guess he would have seen if I had MVP, correct?
