If you get on this website: http://www.irs.gov/, there is a link in the center of the page called "Where's my refund?" Click on that link, this will bring you to a short info page---scroll to the bottom and click again on the 'Where's my refund' link. This will bring you to a page where you will have to type in the primary social security number, filing status and exact refund amount. If it registers, it'll tell you when you should expect your check. If it doesn't, they may not have received it for whatever reason. I had a few clients experience the same thing. If your due a refund, don't worry, just send another copy with required tax documents. It's a hassle, I know, but that's the only way you'll get your money. What about the state? Did you get there refund, or did you owe them?

You should have it by now unless there were problems with your return, or unless your refund was taken for something like back taxes, overdue student loans or overdue child support. Go to irs.gov and check "where's my refund" - you'll have to enter your social security number, filing status, and the exact amount of your refund as shown on your return.

If you don't get an answer there, call the IRS.

If they mailed you a check and you didn't get it, yes you can file a claim and they'll replace it, but could take a month or two.

You really should of had your refund by now! Have you checked the IRS website "Where's My Refund" link?

Here is the link: https://sa1.www4.irs.gov/irfof/lang/en/irfofgetstatus.jsp

If you input the info that it asks for, they will give you an update as to when to expect your refund. If there was a problem with your return, then they will give you an error code until they finish processing it, then they will update their info. You can also call the IRS at 800-829-1040 and try to speak to an agent to see what is holding up your refund!

You can check on your return at IRS.GOV. Paper returns take so long because a government employee must enter the information in to a computer, that would be the same computer that would have received you return had you e-filed.

The later you wait to file the longer it takes for the IRS to process.

Definitely get on the phone immediately. Hopefully, your refund was not thwarted by you owing money to another local jurisdiction or past due loans. They may incorrect mailing or deposit information for you.
