if i have a 1GB SD memo card, how many pictures could i take with the same camera

I think you mean 7 MP instead of 7 Mb camera. Depends on what settings you set your digital camera at. If at best quality for 7 MP. a 2 GB SD card can shoot 605 pictures. See this link for more details.

Depends on how much jpg compression you use. At fine the images are probably 3-4mb depending on lighting and subject. So 2048/3.5=585...figure 550 to 600. Igb would give you hald as much. If you increase compression it will increase the number of pics you can store.
A 1mb card will store half as many.

I have a Canon A710(7.1mp), I just took 776 pictures(at highest resolution) while on vacation. I used 1.78gb of my 2gb card. You will find that your pics will vary from 1.5mb to 3.5mb, depending on the subject.
