I keep reading questions and comments in which it is stated the the asker is willing to accept homosexuality (how nice of them) but doesn't want to hear about it, and doesn't understand why homosexuals have to talk about coming out and their sexuality all the time.
My question for these people, or anyone else is this, would women and black citizens have the right to vote, would black citizens have any rights for that matter if they had set quietly by and hoped someday someone would grant them those rights? The answer is an obvious and emphatic NO.
I am not gay but I join my voice proudly with everyone, gay and straight that call out for equal rights and acceptance for all citizens. We live in a nation that purports to grant equality to all. Our clamoring for that promise to be fulfilled does not make us un-American or immoral. These labels belong to those who attempt to deny the basic rights of citizenship and acceptance as persons.
