Yes, Fred Thompson was a lobbyist for 17 years and he had a pro choice view on abortion. Many derogatory remarks were made about his poor work habits and lack luster performance during his 8 years in the Senate. These remarks have more credibility to me since he had no plans whatsoever to run for the Presidency at that time.
The most conservative guy is Mike Huckabee, but he's way down in the 2nd tier. I like him even though I am a tied dye liberal because he has integrity, and his answer on the evolution question made a lot of sense. He was a good governor and as long as everyone is bringing religion into politics, why not elect a minister? Chuck Hagel is also an honest man and a real conservative and he's anti-Iraq-war, but sadly he's not running. Mind you I'd never vote for these guys, but I wish we could have some honest men on the ballot for a change.

If you want someone truely conservative you can always let Bush cancel the next elections cause we cant have a change in leadership in the middle of a global war and crisis. That would be irresponsible now wouldn't it?

There are no true conservatives left.Money has taken over and thats what its all about. Now, we are left to choose the lesser of two evils.Just pick the MAN who is for smaller government. All politicians are liberal these days.It is the way of the world.
