I watched World Trade Center last night, which prompted this question. I was at home with my sick son, glued to the tv. Then had to go to the Health Dept. thats when the towers fell.

I'd die for a cause if it was probable that my death would in some way help the cause.

Like if some "God" fellow came to me and said that I would have to be crucified to end war, famine, droughts and pestilence in Africa and he pinkie promised then I would do it.

If my death would have been a catalyst for a movement such as the civil rights movement then I'd do it.

I wouldn't die for something shallow especially if my death would just be a statistic.

If I were a Jew in Nazi Germany, I wouldn't have volunteered to go into the showers with my faith hanging out. I would have run away scared.

Guns help the helpless to defend themselves. But they help criminals and potential criminals more than anyone else today. Its not the 1850s Wild West anymore, when guns were necessary. Guns are creating an uncivilized society in America. God, "Guns" and Guts helped create America, so some idiot wrote. What a principle for a great nation to be founded on - Guns! .... Pleasure shooting too, needs to be banned outrightly, because that is the idle rich fellow's pursuit. .... But then of course, who will take care of the filthy rich gun manufacturers who lobby as hard as they can in Washington to make sure that there never will be any gun control in America? What do they care if honest Americans in Troy, Michigan are killed because somebody lost his accounting job? What do they care if American schoolchildren are killed in Pennslvania by some maniac? All that those selfish manufacturers care about is maintaining their lifestyle, and not even death can come in the way of that.

my parents hate my boyfriend. the only thing my mom has gotten to know about my boyfriend is things from his myspace. she doesnt like the fact that im white and he's black. my mother has always had slightly racist qualities, but i didnt realize that it went this deep. she constantly tells me that she doesnt trust me, and that she wont condone us dating. she even said that i couldnt go on a trip with our church this summer because he was going. she's being really controlling, and never lets me see him. she's rude to him, and it hurts both of us. i really care about him, and dont like her being this way towards him. my father hasnt even met him and already doesnt like him because of my mom. he has formed his opinions of justin completely on what my mom says. what should i do and what do you all think ?

my husband said so many hurtful things over the years, mostly silly in a sarcastically jokingly way but the one that hurt the most was when the other day he said that:
"...YOUR POETRY IS NOT WORKING FOR YOU"

p.s. the sad part is if I remind him he will not even remember he said it :(

I am 52 years old, and even though I am in good shape...well, here is my question. My boyfriend asked me to help him move a 35 inch tv outside to his car. I went to lift it. My end was very heavy to me. The tv slipped out of my hands and I dropped it. He had a FIT!!!!! He was yelling and cussing and I said I was sorry. I looked at the tv. A litle piece of plastic was chipped off the front, but the tv was okay. He never even asked if I was okay, or anything. I was crying and he told me to go home!!!! A few days later I told him I was sorry for dropping my end, but it really was too heavy. He didn't apologize until I made a big deal out of it. Do I have a right to still be mad? Some have told me he is verbally abusive. What do you think?
