I was living in California and was getting ready to go to work. I was watching katie, matt and al on the today show while getting dressed. They announced that a plane had hit one of the towers and had cameras showing where the plane had hit. Then we saw the second plane fly into the second twin tower. You could hear people on the streets of NY screaming and I saw people jumping out of windows.
I called my parents on the East coast and asked if they were watching tv, they were, so I stayed on the phone with my Dad and watched the news with him for a long time. We didn't talk much, but it felt good to have him on the line.
After I got off the phone with my parents I called my friends in NY. My friend that worked in the twin towers was at a meeting down on 5th avenue, otherwise she would have died! Everyone in her office died except those that called in sick or were running late. She has survivor guilt and will never be the same. She also has a laundry list of bizarre ailments and her father died of respiratory problems 3 months after the towers went down. One of the other ladies from her office that survived eventually committed suicide because of her intense survivor guilt and depression.
You are far stronger than I am, those tv shows and movies are too difficult for me to watch. I cry and cry then turn off the tv.

I was in the World Trade Center in Lexington, Kentucky at a Maternal and Child Health Training for Public Health. My mom and child were in the hotel where I was training. We were in our seats and my supervisior came in, released us and told us all to go home. We stopped to watch the plane fly into one of the towers and at that time did not realize what was happening. It was very scary. I held my son all night and prayed when I got home safely.

I was at work and I had the TV on..(I clean houses). I didn't see what happened to the first tower but, I saw the plane crash into the 2nd tower. Then I started hearing reports about the Pentagon crash. I left work and went to pick my kids up. I was terrified and not completely understanding what was happening. The more I learned, the angrier I got. I can still see that day in my minds eye like it were yesterday.

i become in eighth grade and by using a transformation of sophistication I overheard 2 ladies speaking that a airplane hit some development in manhattan city. I pictured a small crop-duster like airplane, no longer a brilliant passenger plane. as quickly as we've been given to English, the instructor placed on the information to enable us to show screen... The vital got here visiting and become doing away with the TVs... in a protracted time in the day, a instructor enable us to take heed to the radio genuine low... They saved the whole college in a bubble for worry of folk freaking out. I understand why they did that, seeing because it become a development that had ok-5 on the 1st 2 flooring and six-8 on the third, yet i think of that we've been sufficiently previous to understand what become occurring in the eighth grade. you recognize what's strange? think of approximately this: there are little ones, in all risk infants, who won't be able to bear in mind 9/11. I bear in mind the Oklahoma city bombing and that i'm only 20!

I was in my sophomore year in high school and was asleep in second period when the towers were hit. However, I never found out what happened until my last class (which was ironically American Government) when I asked my teacher what all the fuss was about. He didn't say anything. He just frowned and pointed to the TV in the classroom. I finally saw the towers in flames and watched them fall. I never knew the country was under attack or ANYTHING until 1:00 in the afternoon after everything had already happened. I was scared to death!

I had just walked into my 8th grade science class and my teacher told us that the Pentagon blew up. We watched the news for the entire class period. It's strange, because that morning I said, to my mom, something like "hey, today's '9-11', I wonder if there will be an emergency. Sure enough...

I was nursing my baby and my brother called me with the news.
My husband was on a trip out in California and was sitting on a plane delayed on the runway. I turned on the TV, called his cell and told him about it----and while we were talking, the other plane hit the Pentagon.
It was about 6:30 AM in California and he was relaying all of this to his fellow passengers on the plane, none of whom knew anything about it.
They sat on the runway for about an hour. It is strange looking back on it, when we talk about the conversations we had during that hour because we were somewhat naiive as to what it all meant, and were more worried about when he would get back than we were about what was happening to our country!

It was my first year of graduate school and I was in my abnormal psych class. One of our professors came into our class and told up all to "come here, quick." They had the TV set up in the conference room. I watched CNN all day long for weeks - I couldn't stop for some reason. I'll never forget that day. I'll never forget the awful feeling I had for weeks. It's just awful.
