Guns help the helpless to defend themselves. But they help criminals and potential criminals more than anyone else today. Its not the 1850s Wild West anymore, when guns were necessary. Guns are creating an uncivilized society in America. God, "Guns" and Guts helped create America, so some idiot wrote. What a principle for a great nation to be founded on - Guns! .... Pleasure shooting too, needs to be banned outrightly, because that is the idle rich fellow's pursuit. .... But then of course, who will take care of the filthy rich gun manufacturers who lobby as hard as they can in Washington to make sure that there never will be any gun control in America? What do they care if honest Americans in Troy, Michigan are killed because somebody lost his accounting job? What do they care if American schoolchildren are killed in Pennslvania by some maniac? All that those selfish manufacturers care about is maintaining their lifestyle, and not even death can come in the way of that.

Right. Next time somebody is breaking into my house and tries to kill us, I will think "Thank God I don't have a gun, someone might get hurt" I have a stairway. If they get to the 1st landing, they are the target. If not, they can take my tv and my stereo, but if you come toward the family, I drop you.

Guns are good. Really. It's good to have the ability to kill rogue dogs (yes, my dog has been attacked by another's dog, had I had a gun, I would have taken care of that.) What you need to think of is how do we keep BAD guys from having guns? My wife's family are huge hunters. That is what they do to relax. It's their hobby. They take the whole body and use it, so they don't waste, and they definitely aren't the idle lazy rich people.

I plan on getting a big-**** mofo rifle when I get the money togther. Why? Because I can. And that's a good enough reason.

When Katrina melted down, do you want to be the guy with the gun, or the guy without the gun? I have a wife, and I intend to keep her safe with the help of a few slugs should the situation call for it. And don't give me this crap about "if there were no guns, the bad guys wouldn't have them either". Fine, then it would be chain saws, machetes, butcher knives, and sharp pointy sticks. Are you going to ban all of those? I doubt it. Take your Nanny State somewhere else and give me my gun.

Do you have the same opinions about auto manufacturers? There are a helluva lot more people killed each year because people misuse cars that guns. Should pleasure driving be banned? Should the filthy rich car manufacturers be persecuted? All they care about is maintaining their lifestyle while making death machines.

Try a little responsibility on for size. It is the perpetrators' faults for committing crimes, not the tools they use.

Hey, Rosie O'Donnell, people killed each other long before the gun was invented. Maybe you should be using your brain power to look at the reasons for the violence and stop demonizing one of the multitude of means.
Remember this, the first thing the Nazis and Communists took from the people was their ability (guns) to resist. The gun was control by the royalty in Europe for the same reason.

Imagine of one of those workers in Michigan had been carrying a concealed weapon and took out the gunman before he could harm anyone. I say the problem is not enough guns. Imagine if gun ownership were required. How many criminals would try to rob someone they knew for a 100% certainty had a gun?

I disagree. Since the concealed carry laws were enacted, violent crime has dropped by 40%. Criminals will always have guns. Look at England. Criminals have machine guns, and civilians might have a pocket knife, if they haven't been outlawed already. I never leave my house without my Colt .45.
