I'm an Athiest. You always hear the argument about Gods existance somehow proves that we have an all powerful all good god hanging over us.
So lets look at it in a different way. I'm going to assume god exists.
If god exists, why does he want followers? For his ego? Do you do it just because he threatens you?
If God is so arrogent to demand worship, why would you want to follow him? If he is the least bit evil, wouldn't you work against him?
If a god existed as present in most western religions, he would be all powerful and not need followers.
Trying to put it simpler, i want an argument against skepticism. Even if it is true, why not doubt, like we do scientific knoledge (even those which have been proven are constantly doubted). If there is an all powerful god, he does not need the the support. If he is even the least bit evil, we need the people questioning the foundation to keep us from following the evil path.
