I'm an Athiest. You always hear the argument about Gods existance somehow proves that we have an all powerful all good god hanging over us.
So lets look at it in a different way. I'm going to assume god exists.
If god exists, why does he want followers? For his ego? Do you do it just because he threatens you?
If God is so arrogent to demand worship, why would you want to follow him? If he is the least bit evil, wouldn't you work against him?
If a god existed as present in most western religions, he would be all powerful and not need followers.
Trying to put it simpler, i want an argument against skepticism. Even if it is true, why not doubt, like we do scientific knoledge (even those which have been proven are constantly doubted). If there is an all powerful god, he does not need the the support. If he is even the least bit evil, we need the people questioning the foundation to keep us from following the evil path.

Well let's make it real simple. Do you give credit where credit is due?
Secondly, if you want a valid argument against skepticism, you should check out Occam's razor: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Occam's_razor
And then check out Pascal's Wager: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pascal%27s_wager
If you have any questions, you are welcome to shoot me an email.

"why not doubt?" --- because the Word says that whatsoever is not of Faith is sin.....and sin does not enter heaven. Why serve God? Why love and Worship Him? Because HE FIRST loved us and gave Himself for us --- while we were yet sinners Christ died for us. Can you really be so without feeling or compassion that that means nothing to your ungrateful heart? God did everything He could to give you a wonderful relationship with Him with all the benefits on your side --- life, love, peace, joy, living abundance with no regrets and no consequences of sin, to be followed by eternity in heaven with excitement, contentment, satisfaction and Fellowship. Is is really so hard to leave the skepticism and embrace the Truth that God offers? You have everything to gain and nothing to lose (except your eternal negative consequences). There is no "evil" in God - not even a "little bit."

besides the certainty that a christian, faith would not spring to recommendations while i think of roughly homosexuality. It in no way does and not in any respect will. interior the Bible as properly the account of Lot. nevertheless If i might to pass the Bible course, i think of that there must be motives as to why homosexuality is forbidden interior the Bible, on condition that the Bible forbids quite some pagan practices. that's real that gay intercourse grew to become into practiced among Romans and Egyptians. because of the fact Jews have been the minority for a protracted time, there had to be a reason as to why homosexuality isn't seen favorably interior the Bible. keep in mind homosexuality isn't used interior the Bible or is word invented yet. The Bible mentions the act. The act would not precisely propose that a individual is a gay.

I asked myself this ? before. I read in the bible that we can recieve no grace or knowlege of god unless we show faith and obediance to his commandments. I said why follow the commandments life would be boring. But then I learned of the blessings if you are faith full. I tried this and had some pretty cool things happen. But it required change. You can find these things out by reading the bible and checking out www.lds.com
Good Luck

I think most of us Christians (and I don't speak for all of us)have at one point in time doubted the existence of God. I have lived my life both without following Him and with following Him. Without Him, there was always a void in my life. I follow God because I have faith. I follow God because I can feel His presence, because He has blessed me beyond anything I could ever possibly deserve. I follow God, because I KNOW God is there. He is my Father in Heaven, and He will never forsake me or leave me....you will never find a greater friend. I follow my Father in Heaven, because He has promised me Eternal Life. I follow my Father in Heaven because when I didn't my world was dark. I follow my Father in Heaven because I CAN! Is it such a bad thing to follow something we believe. You do it every day. Someone tells you there was an accident on a specific highway and to avoid it on your way to work....you follow their advice because you trust them and believe their instincts. You listen to what your teachers say in school, and to what your boss tells you. You follow the things your parents say, and the things your friends suggest. Why?? How is it really any different?? You are not truly switching points of view. If you were you would be asking yourself far different questions. Such as, "How could God, being the amazing Heavenly Father that He is love me enough to send His only Son to die for my sins...so I might be saved and spend eternity in heaven with Him?? What if I am wrong?? Have you ever really asked yourself that?? What if you have spent your entire life judging and hating, cheating, and lying...only to find out in the end that God really does exist. What will you do?? You spend your life running away..try running toward God for a while. Try understanding how He could love us that much. Try understanding why he would allow His Son to die for us, who are so undeserving of his love. Try to understand for one moment that God doesn't make decisions for us. We make our own decisions....we make our own beds. I am not perfect nor do I claim to be. I am not sure how else to answer the question for you, but as for the majority of the answers above neither did anyone else. I hope you find what you are looking for. God Bless!!
