If you are driven to do it, then no.

Just like science comes naturally to some, as does law to others.

It most certainly takes a commitment, but it can be well worth it.

If you are really driven, you can skip the BA and apply for early acceptance. You still have to have some University credit hours though.

And no, you don't have to make a pact with the devil...being a lawyers is one of the most unappreciated occupations there is. (hmm...I just can't seem to get the pluralization right in this sentence.)

It takes a lot of time, effort and hard work.

After getting a bachelors degree, you need to take and pass the LSATs. Then get into law school. Three years and a lot of studying later, you may graduate with your Juris Doctorate (JD).

Then you get to sit for the bar exam. Depending on the state, the bar exam is a 2-3 day cumulative final exam, covering a dozen of more of the subjects you learned in law school.

If you pass all that, you can become a licensed attorney. Which requires you to follow one of the strictest code of ethics of any profession.

But those of us who have done it think it's worth the effort.

My husband and sister in law just graduated from law school. It takes a lot of time and effort, that is for sure. After completing 4 years of undergraduate college, then one has to take an LSAT course. My sis in law paid $800 for a prep course and my husband just studied on his own. Then one would apply to law schools. If one is accepted, then you spend the next 3 or 4 years living and breathing law school...I kid you not. It's so time consuming. I began to call myself a "law school widow" because my husband had to study every evening and weekend. Once one graduates from law school, then they take the bar exam. I NEVER saw my husband for months before, especially right before the exam. I should mention, most law students pay for a prep course called barbri for the bar exam. It is an expensive course (a couple thousand if I remember correctly). Plus, the bar exam itself is expensive. I can't remember how much. When he took it, I was so relieved but then he had to wait for months for the results. Not to mention, the highly competitive and frantic job search after the bar was bad as well. That was agony in itself not only for him, but our entire family. It was quite stressing. Thankfully, he passed on his first try but he had many friends who did not. They were fired from their new jobs for not passing the bar.

We're golden now....he graduated, he passed, and he has a job...but whew....the four years he was in law school...I NEVER want to do again!

I should mention, for the first three years, my husband worked full time. We had our first daughter before he went into law school and we got pregnant during his last year. He was a weekend law student the first few years then switched to full-time the last year.

We laugh now about all the crazy stuff we went through. It was tough but we have no regrets.

nah....becoming a lawyer is easy...thats why its one of the highest paying jobs. it basically goes....high school, mcdonalds, lawyer. or if you want an equally as easy job you can look into rocket science....or heck, if thats not easy enough for you, how bout brain surgery or pediatric cardiology. one summer at JC and you can be certified to do all three of those things.

Not really. But if you are really that worried about the hard work- this job ain't for you- I can tell ya. It takes 3 years after undergrad. It was the best 3 years of my life and really not that bad.
