years ago when kids actually hung out outside if bullies picked on a kid they took his shoes and threw them on the powerlines. then the poor kid had to walk home with out shoes and explained it to his parents

well depends on where you live usally it is a gand sighn and tossing shoes on the power line lets people know that a member of the local gang was killed in that area.

i don't know and if my kids did it i would kick their asssses in . dam spending money on shoes for them so they can throw them up on powerlines.

It is usually for when someone dies. You leave a pair of their shoes there so that people remember them. Kind of a weird tradition but it is true.
