if any body daily gives that auto suggestion, certainly that person would die. instead of that negative suggestion, give good suggestions like all is well with the world.

The first thing I thought when I saw your question was that I had heard it before in a poem, but not with the word "dead". Could you possibly be thinking of the poem Danse Russe by William Carlos Williams?
If when my wife is sleeping
and the baby and Kathleen
are sleeping
and the sun is a flame-white disc
in silken mists
above shining trees,—
if I in my north room
dance naked, grotesquely
before my mirror
waving my shirt round my head
and singing softly to myself:
“I am lonely, lonely.
I was born to be lonely,
I am best so!”
If I admire my arms, my face,
my shoulders, flanks, buttocks
against the yellow drawn shades,—
Who shall say I am not
the happy genius of my household?
Not doctrine, just a terrific poem. My high-school boyfriend and I used to say those lines ("I am lonely, lonely!") and then crack up. Not because we didn't think the poem was absolutely brilliant, we were just being silly. I can still remember Jeff (who was not the strongest guy) with his shirt off looking into the mirror and saying "Who, honey, shall say I am not the happy genius of my household?" in a macho and sardonic manner, and then falling into fits of giggles himself. It was so funny. Great memories. I know I said it on a number of occasions in front of my bedroom mirror after I learned it in my junior year of high school... OK, admittedly, I actually did it all, everything Williams' character did in the poem. And it made me feel great.
Hope this helps!

I know nothing of it (and apparently I am not the first to be answering with zero actual knowledge) but I assume one objective of the activity is to remind one of who "I" is. Is it the body? is it the mind? the ego? Of the three, you can most easily live without the ego. that thing's like a weed that will not die until the body and mind stop feeding it. So, giving it a few moment off might be a good thing, this practice might do it.
Or...maybe it's a way of reminding you that you can die and be reborn every single day of your life. You owe nothing to the past, nothing. The you that walked around yesterday is dead, this is the new you and it can have donuts for lunch or skip lunch and go for a walk.
Could be that last one. Could be a lot of things. I don't know but if it works for you, I say do it.

If you want to be dead then do this. I've heard that if you want something positive to happen to you to look into the mirror and look yourself in the eyes and repeat 3 times, in a meaningful voice, " I " whatever you want to take place in your life. Example " I'm going to lose weight". "I'm going to eat healthy foods, I'm going to stop smoking, I'm going to watch less TV and find a hobby. Whatever you want to do or change in your life can be accomplished by looking in the mirror and stating it in a meaningfull way, that this is what you are going to do. You have to think possivitive and make up your mind to follow through. Stop what you are telling yourself before you believe it.

It sounds like it would have the opposite effect to me. Don't think I will be trying that one.

No. Stop asking about this already and go chant about how dead you are somewhere else.

Keep saying that and you will get your wish!
Be careful what you ask for, you may not know what to do with when you get it!
