i desperately need advice as i received a summon to court today. november last year the checked my house and found my tv with aerial. later i received a letter asking to pay for tv licence. i responded saying that i use my tv for viewing dvds only (it was true, i threw away my aerial right after their visit, but didn't watch tv before that either). i based that on saying in their website that you do not need tv license if you use your tv for these purposes. no response. today got a summon to court. and i will not be able to attend as will be out of country at that time.
my questions would be:
how serious it is?
what are my chances to prove i'm not guilty?
how much can i expect to pay (they say it's up to £1000, can it be less?)
what should i do now?...

any advice will be greatly appreciated.

My boyfriend will by 19 years old Feb 19, he hasn't had a job since October, he quit his last one because they wanted him to take his lip ring out and he wouldn't. So without notice he just quit there. Umm and he claims he's been trying to get a job, but I dont believe him, I just recently got a job within ONE month of trying.. he hasn't had his car since Dec 25, 06. He gets money from his mom IF she gives him any.. otherwise I pay for everything and I drive us everywhere.. its coming down to I'm spending more money on him than he ever spent on me.. is this right? Shouldn't we be taking turns?? He never has any money.. and I always want to go do something but he never can or I have to pay.. OH my dad's even bought him a new car battary [atleast 60$] and he never paid him back... AND yes he has his friends still sleep over??!

What do you think? Is he even worth it, or is he going to be mooching off of me forever? ;/ We were together [off and on] for 1 year & 2 months.

It seems like a a big pushwith rapidly growing liberal churches is to accept just about any behavior behind the banner that God is love and Christ embraces diversity.

But isn't this just a trap that Satan has set against Christian to go against the will of God without even knowing it?

the bible says that as many as God loves he rebukes and chastises and Christ says that many shall knock but few will enter. If Christ was about diversity and you can get into heaven with any kind of lifestyle you like, wouldnt Christ let everyone in who believed enough to knock?


Dont you think Satan used the message of love and diversity to deceive a third of the angels in heaven. He probably was like "God loves you too much to do anything bad to you...of course we can do whatever we like".

Cain did not worship God the way God asked. Satan probably told him - its okay to worship your way...God is love and will accept anything you do as long as its for him?

So many churches are falling for this trap

here is my situation,i am at home to care for my husband.he is under going very serious treatment for cancer as well as he has just has 2 stem cell transplants(one with his own,didn't work and now with his sister's)as well i am a mom to a 4 year old,i am doing well with all of this mentally, but i think physically it is taking a little toll on me (we have been going through treatments with my husband ever since our child was born,so about 4 years) what i would like is some suggestions on some vitiamin/healthy suppliments to help me with low energy levels.in the pass few months i am finding myself very tired and less active,i am a very out going and upbeat person and i do deal well with what life brings your way,i just think although i have good healthy eating habbits and try my best to be active each day in some way,perhaps the stress is weighing on my physical being and i need to look at some vitamin/healthy suppliments.i know thati should also consult with my doctor, thank you!!!!!!!

Sometimes I can't believe how poor people's spelling is on here and I am too distracted by wanting to criticise them for it to be able to answer their question. I mean, there is a spell check available if you have dyslexia or poor english. Am I just grumpy or is anyone with me?

This is my current setup:

Computer
Dell 2007WFP Wide-Screen Monitor (VGA, DVI, S-video Composite)
Toshiba SD-360E DVD upscaler (576p 720p, 1080i) (HDMI, Scart, phono jacks, component video jacks)
Cambridge Soundworks 2.1 speakers
Aver Media TV Box 3. (Phono jacks, S-video, VGA)

Whats the best way to get high quailty pictures from the DVD upscaler to the monitor?

At the moment Im using: phono jacks to connect the DVD player to the Avermedia, and the optical out on Avermedia to connect the speakers. The monitor is connected to the Avermedia by VGA and connected directly to the grahpics card on the computer via DVI.

I hope this makes sense. Do I need to replace the AverMedia box with something that supports something else? As far as I can see, the new Avermedia boxes dont support HDMI either.
